    EXCELLENT, 2005-11-27
MY HUSBAND AND I BOUGHT THIS SET AT BORDERS IN VIRGINIA IN 1998 AND WE WATCH IT ABOUT EVERY 2 YEARS IN IT'S ENTIRETY AND THEN TALK ABOUT IT FOR ANOTHER YEAR. THIS MOVIE IS EXCELLENT. WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. I AM NOT EVEN A "WESTERN" TYPE MOVIE LOVER, BUT I LOVE THIS MOVIE. THE ONLY THING BETTER WOULD BE IF IT WERE AVAILABLE ON DVD. (IT TAKES 24 HOURS TO WATCH) WE DO A MARITHON FOR A WEEK WHEN WE WATCH IT.

    GREAT miniseries., 2005-11-12
This mini series has always had a special place in my heart. I was 17 when I watched it with my mom and dad. That was 27 years ago and to this day when I see some of the actors they are still the Centennial characters to me. When Stephen McHattie is in a movie or something the first time I see him I still say, "Oh, there's Jake." Cliff DeYoung is still Skimmerhorn, and William Atherton, who has played so many villains through the years is still sweet Jim Lloyd when he comes on the screen. The people that put that series together did it right. It has endured and is beloved by many.

Why isn't Centennial available on DVD?, 2005-10-04
Centennial is one of the all-time best productions...yet, it is not available on DVD? How can this be? Several years ago I assumed that Centennial would have been one of the first to appear on DVD. So much trash is available on DVD yet not Centennial? I find that a sad commentary on the values of those who produce DVDs.

from the mountains to the prairies, 2005-09-18
I was 9 when I first saw Centennial on tv, the second time I was 13. Over the years it has grown out to be an important document for me about nature, life and death. I've got the series on vhs and watch it every two years or so. Since the tapes are getting bad, I hope it will be out on dvd soon! The eyes of Alice Grebe in chapter 11 are one of the most horrifying things I have ever seen on tv, by the way. One remark: many visitors of this forum say the series takes 26 hours - I count only 20... Marc van Biezen, Amsterdam

Why Isn't Centennial on DVD?, 2005-08-29
I'm rewatching this wonderful mini-series with friends and family members, two of whom are under the age of 12. We are currently up to the episode 'The Shepherds' and still laugh when Coker and Person are trying to herd the sheep through the middle of Centennial.

There isn't a bad role in this 26-hour epic miniseries. From Robert Conrad in the first episode to David Janssen in the last, watching is a wonderful adventure.

After all these years, I don't understand why this mini-series isn't on DVD. I bought the VHS set ten years ago and paid well over a hundred dollars for it. The DVD set would well be worth at least that much, especially if the producers and directors included extras.
