I love my touch!, 2008-10-24 The ipod touch is amazing, I touch feature is very responsive and is not aggravating. Apple has done a good job with the ipod series and I hope they continue to make it better!
great ipod, 2008-10-21 I think i made a worthwhile purchase when i got the ipod touch. It works beautifully. All of the components are easy to understand and manipulate. The audio is clear and I especially like the fact that I can connect to my wireless network and read my email anywhere in my home. I will definitely be purchasing another one for my son for Christmas.
Ipod itouch review, 2008-10-21 The Apple itouch is an excellent music player. I would have given it more stars, but I have two issues with it. First, is the not so great headphones that came with the ipod. I had to upgrade out of my own pocket and I feel it should have come with better quality headphones. Second, the web capabilities which I have not been able to use. Even on my home wireless system I cannot get it to work. I got so frustrated I gave up. Its fun to watch videos on it, but for the price I expected to use this for more than just music and videos. Also the constant upgrades are annoying because they want to add/sell you more software all the time.
Nice features for a mobile internet device - Music player meets PDA, 2008-10-19 The iPod touch is a portable music player with Wifi, so you can run a version of the Safari internet browser. It's a good alternative if you don't want the exclusive Phone service that comes with the iPhone, iPod's big brother.
Pandora is the killer app for this device. While being able to carry 1000 songs in your pocket is nice, there are other ways to do that. What makes the iPod touch special is that you can downloads free and non-free applications from iTunes store. A version of google maps is available, and the first time you use it with a Wireless Access point, you'll probably get creeped out a little bit that it knows where you are most of the time.
The integrated Wifi makes it easy to use Pandora, a music service that allows you to listen to music that you would like, based on your preferences. The Wifi range is good, although not as extreme as the range on the XO laptop.
I use mine with a screen protector, and an over-the-ear headphone Skullcandy SC-BHESH07 Hesh Headphone, Black, which allow me to shut out the outside world when I need to.
There are a few missing features, including lack of audio input (no VOIP phone) and the lack of a user-replaceable battery. The biggest issue for some will be the lack of ability to share apps from device to device, like the early palm pilot PDAs. Apple wants to control the apps you run on the device, so it may be a while before peer sharing is acceptable.
iPod touch as PDA, 2008-10-17 I purchased the 16G iPod touch as a replacement for a Palm OS PDA. I knew the music capability would be a no brainer, but was very surprised by the video. Until the applications mature, I will still need my PDA from time to time, but it is not on my person, as it has been in the past. Overall I am 150% impressed by it's performance, and 15% disappointed by it's capability. It needs IR and Bluetooth. p.s. This review written comfortably on tv touch!
