as good as it gets for pc, 2008-01-15 Guitar Hero 3 for PC/Mac is just like any other version. Graphics look great, game play is great, just as good as a console system would put out. The only downside to this package (in my opinion) is the guitar. It isn't anything special, but like one you would get with the prior guitar hero games. Not all spiffy like the new wireless ps3 version or the advertised guitar hero 3 controller, and is a heck of a lot louder. When rocking the strum button, it can (if the volume is not all the way up) get louder than the actual song. Which, if you are a "hard-core" guitar hero fan, you wont mind, but when you have a roommate, or are trying to be quiet, it can be very annoying.

a good game, 2008-01-15 I really like this game. I play on my friends systems on hard close to expert but on my comp, i have to go back to easy because obviously my computer doesn't have the #1 video card, and I understand that. Yes there are lags, but you need to download the patch. It makes it better. On my laptop, there are lags. I'm not sure about my desktop, i think it will work without lags. Its pretty awesome. The graphics are pretty nice for a computer game. For a comp game, its up their with the 360 version of the game. Its better than the PS2 version. Its nice and clear. Go for it, if you can't afford the 360, Wii, PS2, or PS3.

So much fun your entire family will want to take turns, (no joke), 2008-01-02 Everyone wants to play this and it only plays on my MacBookPro. So I have a line of people waiting for me to stop working.
One Warning Though: Some of the songs at the end are very heavy metal and you have to battle the devil. Not a game you want to send to your pastors children probably.
Otherwise, have fun :)
Works fine, decent game, 2007-12-31 Got the game for Christmas. I read about problems people are having and the claim that it only works on brand new top line computers. In my experience this has not been the case. My computer is 1.5 years old, and I considered it very mid-range when it was new. People have to be be smart and read the requirements for the game before buying, and make sure their computer can handle it. This game is clearly not ported for budget systems or super old systems, but it doesn't need brand new either.
My computer is an AMD 3800 dual core processor, 2 GB Ram, GeForce 7600 GT video card. Like I said, a mid-range system that is over a year old. This puts it higher than the minuimum and lower than the recommended specs for this game. If I run with the graphics set up to the very highest settings and resolution the game works good for the most part but occasionally gets jerky and laggy. However, if I run with the graphics settings in the middle it runs perfectly smooth all the time.
The game itself is fun. I enjoy these type of rythm games. However, I do sort of wonder about the cost. $80 is a lot for a game even if it is fun. I probably could find a couple $40 games that would provide the same amount of entertainment... I don't know.. anyway I didn't pay for it, I got it for Christmas I like it, it is addicting, fun, has a good mix of songs. The online play seems to work well, although I will admit I have mostly played single player and only dabbled playing with/against people online a couple times. However, those couple times seemed to work fine.

Game runs fine on 7300GS , 2007-12-26 I was so excited to get this for Chrstmas! Ive been a fan of the series since I first heard it was coming to ps2 a few years ago. People have a lot of beef with the graphical requirements, but I played fine on my rig (exceeds all requirements except graphics card) and had zero trouble playing it on medium settings on a 7300GS which is WAY under the suggested requirements. I prefer the PC version hands down to the 360 version and cant wait for the mods to start rolling in!
