It's alright if you like these kind of movies., 2008-09-26 Live Free or Die Hard starring Bruce Willis is the 4th installment in the Die Hard franchise. The last film was 15 years ago and John is still a tough as nails cop. Justin Long is pretty good as well, nice comic relief, always liked him on the t.v. show Ed. The stunts are pretty outrageous (that's a good thing), and the plot is intense, great music as well. I am not a huge fan of action flicks but this one is pretty entertaining, Die Hard 2 is the best in the series but Live Free or Die Hard shall make your aderaline pump profusely, enjoy!

Only buy if you like GREAT action movies!, 2008-09-25 One of the things that made/make the Die Hard series so great is that they are GREAT action movies...and this one is an excellent example! I love it when McClane tells the bad guy that his girlfriend is down the elevator shaft with an SUV up her ... It is pure Die Hard dialog! This is a keeper and I am glad I bought the unrated version on DVD so that I could have the famous Yippee Ki Yay line that we all know and love so well. But I must say one of my favorite lines in this movie is when Justin Long is amazed after the helicopter crash and in a dazed voice he tells McClane 'you kill the helicopter with a car' and of course McClane acts like it was nothing but a normal Tuesday for him.
IF YOU LIKED THE FIRST TWO DIE HARDS THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR YOUR COLLECTION!

Please Die Hard and Stay Dead, 2008-09-23 I was mildly entertained with this movie until it got to the part where the bad guy authorized a US Fighter Pilot to engage an attack on a Semi driven by our real American Hero, John McClane, on a busy Mix Master Highway. "Must kill that terrorist", RIGHT. So the Fighter Pilot is shooting missile after missile at Poor ole' John collapsing overpass after overpass killing hundreds of motorists. "Must kill that terrorist at all cost". That's still not enough. He pelts it with bullets, destroying even more of the overpass. So when the Jet becomes disabled, the pilot ejects allowing his jet to crash causing even more destruction. It angers me anytime our military are portrayed as stupid or a bunch of hillbillies. That's all I have to say about that.

Live Free or Die Hard , 2008-09-17 Live Free or Die Hard: A realyy fun movie to take you away for a while. Loads of action and shoot em up.
Bored to Tears by an Action Flick?, 2008-09-15 It was very action packed, which can be okay. It did not have enough dialogue, though, which bugged me. It was like the writers wanted to make a movie, but didn't want to spend much time on an actual script.
Though seeing Bruce Willis taking on bad guys is interesting, it just isn't as much fun as it used to be. He can still take on the action hero role. He just didn't have much to work with this time.
The acting was okay. I've seen better, not from these actors, but that's okay. I didn't expect to see spectacular acting, but I thought it would be more fun. This was not as fun as previous installments.
I normally cannot stand the bad guys in things, but the best scenes throughout most of the movie were the ones with them. Their acting was less dry. The best non-villain acting was Justin Long.
I kind of wondered when this movie would end. It felt like it would prolong my suffering if it kept going the way it was going...and that was just 45 minutes into it. Normally, I can suspend reality for a movie and not pull my hair out trying to figure out why so much blatant stupidity is going on. Alas, this was different. I was about to scream or die from the utter pain of watching a crappy movie.
Of course, I was very happy to see Kevin Smith. He can always be counted on for a good time. He may not be the best actor in the world, but at least he's cool.
Apparently, if you're a guy or "middle-aged", this movie is awesome, but if you're a young woman like me, then it's probably not going to be your cup of tea. My advice is to stay away unless you're 100% sure that you're going to love it after all is said and done. Even if you're sure that you're going to love it, you'll probably just barely like it.
