 Really bad program and absolutely no customer support, 2008-03-04
I have used this program for just over a month now. At first all was well then the program started to turn off firewall protection, then would not do an auto download, then started getting runt time errors when it would conduct system scan, then PC would lock up. Notified BitDefender customer support by email and received absolutely zero response. Finally I removed and reloaded the program, all was well again, then............
This is an awful program full of bugs and errors anyone using it will be at risk of having your firewall turn off and who knows what else that you will be fully exposed to. Using the FIX PROBLEM button does little if anything. This was a total waste of my money and now I'm looking elsewhere for another "highly rated" product which I hope will work better than this does.

 I liked the trial version better., 2008-02-26
I can't tell you that the trial version was better. From what I have read, it did not include real time scanning. This made it seem fast. The full version can drag sometimes.
Otherwise this is a great system. The control panel might seem odd at first but the functions are detailed and very capable. You control this system. It does not control you.

 Great choice among many, 2008-02-24
I have triad the following products, each with problems:
Trend Micro - Used to like it, but latest version has software conflicts with some of our necessary software, including drivers for HP Plotter.
Norton - Bogs the system down fiercely.
Kaspersky - Difficult interface, bogs system down
I added to six computers in the office, and so far so good.
My second choice would be Trend Micro.

Decent program....when it works., 2008-02-18
I read a lot of good things about this software, so I decided to try it for myself. I must say that when this product works, it works very well. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of problems that frequently prevent it from working properly.
The thing that worries me the most is the frequent, seemingly random disabling of security features (real-time protection, firewall, etc.). Every time I want to go on the internet I check to make sure these things are working, and a lot of the time they aren't. When I click the fix buttons, nothing happens. The only thing that gets it working again is a system reboot, which can be quite annoying. I've had other problems like error messages popping up when I open the console, being unable to update at times, and other minor irritations.
This all leads me to my next problem with this product/company. I've found that Bitdefender support is basically non-existent. I've been sending e-mails to tech support for 3 months with absolutely no response. After 3 months of sending countless e-mails I finally got a response, but only after telling them that I will never purchase another BitDefender product again and that I was about to start publicly boycotting their company because of their lack of support for a product that does not work properly. I have never experienced such poor support for any software I have ever used.
All in all I'd have to say that when this product is working, it works very well. But unfortunately, those times are a lot less frequent than they should be, and my computer spends a lot of time being completely unprotected. I would really not recommend this product to anyone.

Best yet!, 2008-02-08
Last year norton 360 sw to bitdefender total 08 and find it faster with better options like dup file finder!
Two year pack, 3 computers with a price u can't beat!!
