Really poor live support, 2008-05-03 Quicken 2008 Premier
chat support - often dropped conversations - and no reason to think the problem was at my end. quality of responses - far less useful than the website
phone support - oddly limited to rather short weekday hours if as it appears - most support is in India anyway requires one two two day scheduling for live support. then requires a "they call you don't call us" appointment. then they forget the appointment, then they tell you to go to the website and look up their phone number and they will try to call sooner "Yikes!!!"

Very Happy Customer, 2008-05-02 First time Quicken user and I am very pleased with Quicken 2008. I use a MacBookPro and found out that Quicken for Mac was not a good option for me. I operate Windows XP by way of VMWare Fusion on my Mac. Installing and using Quicken was a breeze. It does take some time, for a first time user, to set up all of your accounts and to try different ways of tracking your spending and creating a budget. Other than that, I think this product is absolutely great. Before, I just used a basic program on my Palm but now I can project into the future and get a better grip on my finances.

don't forget their support policies, 2008-04-14 I see lots of reviewers saying "don't upgrade." Problem is, you really don't have a choice. Quicken ends support for products just three years old. Not a big deal, you may say? Well, the problem is that, when the product isn't supported, Quicken prevents you from downloading new transactions from your bank. I was forced to upgrade from Quicken 2005 to Quicken 2008 so I could keep track of my financial transactions. The new features aren't worth the money, and the bugs are sooo annoying.
If the key thing I'm buying is the ability to download my transactions, I'd rather pay a yearly subscription fee than have to buy new, buggy software. Gimme the software for free, charge me a subscription for using it.
Time to switch vendors. I hope MS Money is better.
Hideous! Appaling! Infuriating! Horrendous! Exasperating!, 2008-04-10 Do NOT repeat do NOT "upgrade" to this product. Instead just set 90 one dollar bills on fire and watch them burn. It will be just as effective and much less frustrating.
I "needed" this version to to my latest taxes- -Big Mistake. It took a 8 working days to download this onto my computer. Chat help is worse than worthless - they could not even identify the error code I was getting - much less fix the damned thing. I spent 3 hours with them one day. Finally I attempted to go back to my 2006 version only to find that the failed installation process wiped out the 2006 program (but not my data)! Arrrrgh!!!
I got it installed only by creating another account on my computer. Then the connectivity problems with my financial instituations started! It reported that I had $106,000 in my checking account!
If I were religious I would call these program designers EVIL!
You would be much better off to buy an abacus.
New Qucken 2008 Premier, 2008-04-05 Quicken 2006 had a lot of problems that have been resolved in the 2008 product.
