Pain in the rear to get started. Need accounting background..., 2008-07-17 I have a small photography business and use this to keep books.
Takes some serious effort to get started and the help files are worthless for understanding how to set things up.
Get a good book on accounting and you should be okay.
CONCLUSION: Takes some work but is an okay solution.
Quicken gets worse with each version--I'll never buy it again, 2008-07-08 I've purchased at least eight versions of Quicken and I will admit I only used them when I absolutely had to. Now, I really need the kinds of features that Quicken claims to have and I am extraordinarily, completely and utterly disappointed. The interface has gone from mildly annoying to completely opaque and illogical. I am happy to say Intuit/Quicken will never get another dollar from me. The lowest rating I am allowed to give this program is a single star, negative stars would be more appropriate.
Hard To Figure Out, 2008-07-04 I like the things that Quicken does, I just have a hard time figuring out how to do them. I need a "Quicken for dummies" book to go along with it!

Don't always believe the bashers., 2008-07-01 Unfortunately, most people who have a problems want the world to know, so they bash the product. Every computer and EVERY product is going to have issues sometimes. I've used Quicken for nearly 20 years. I've tried MS Money and, as a bookkeeper, many other bookkeeping types of software. There is nothing on the market that is better. Quicken does everything it says it does. It's easy to use and understand. I download all my credit cards and my PayPal accounts into Quicken 2008 with issue. I scan and attach all my receipts to their transactions in Quicken, so they are easy to find and print out when I need to return something. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because Quicken still has advertising in the software, which I think should not be part of a product we have to pay to use. There is not other software that gives me everything Quicken does and I would be lost without it. I've NEVER lost a file and in 20 years Quicken has only crashed two or three times. I update my older files every other version or so, so that my files from 1989 can be opened in the 2008 version. The software is AMAZING, and the Home and Business version at this price is a great deal. You be the judge, not the rantings of problems I've never seen in 20 years of daily use or unusual computer issues of a very few.

I'm sending it back, 2008-06-28 Family members have used old (2000 - 2002) versions of Quicken for years. Wanting to get a handle on my finances, and running Vista, I purchased this product. I installed it and it would not correctly download my bank accounts. After many hours and 4 rounds of emails with customer support - I decided life was too short. I was pleased that the product has a 60 day money back guarantee, so it's going back and I'm going to try Money, in hopes that I have better luck. This product never worked correctly, and became more unstable with time - within 24 hours of installation it failed to download transactions at all and made my screen flicker. Customer support tried to be helpful, and sent me an email within 24 hours each day I wrote them. I wasn't excited about paying $25 for help with my new program, so I didn't call telephone support. My advice: run.
