    Great Program, 2008-05-25
I have been using Finale since 1994 and am thoroughly satisfied with it. I have tried other program but always come back to Finale for its ability to let me make my scores look like I want them. It is not an easy program to learn, but once you get the basics you can really do a lot. In Finale 2008 they moved some of the functions around and I am still trying to find where they put certain things, and that was a bit of a shock after being used to having them in a certain place. Also, to me the Help menus are not as good as they were, but those are only a minor problems.

Recently I received an assignment to engrave some piano music of a well known composer. The right hand is in 4 sharps and the left hand is in 4 flats. The Fianle staff was extremely helpful in telling me how to do this and it was as easy as checking a box in the "Staff Setup Tool" making the key signatures in each staff independent of each other.

I do not think I will ever use another notation software. Have heard it said that if you can't do it in Finale it can't be done on the computer. I am beginning to believe it.

You do not have to be a teacher or a student to purchase Finale, only to get the special discount. The [...] site has the downloadable form for this.

Way to go guys. Keep up the good work.

Unless you are a teacher or student don't bother..., 2008-05-15
Ordered this product as a graduation gift for my son and after placing the order was notified by the seller of the requirement to provide faxed or emailed copys of teaching/student credentials in order to complete the purchase. I have no problem with this, but would it be too much trouble to mention in the advertisement and not waste my time? Now I'm waiting for cancellation of a $300 order on my credit card. What a lousy way to conduct business!
