 Fun software. , 2007-07-12
I bought this based on a friends recommendation. This was my first foray into editing video so I wanted something that wasn't super complicated or expensive. Was I pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use. The software installation was fast, no hiccups. My first attempt was a simple video using photos from our sons birthday party. The web upload to Yahoo is great - makes it easy to share with our extended family in the Midwest and East coast. Received lots of kudos from family and friends. Can't wait to create and share the next one.
Pretty Good Software, 2007-06-21
I had heard mixed feedback about Studio, especially on version 10, but one friend told me about Studio 11 fixing a lot of the problems the application had, while still being super easy to use. So I gave it a try. I am not an expert and really needed a simple way to get those videos fading away on my camcorder tapes turned into something more exciting. First contact with the application is actually pretty good: decent installation and launch time. Once in the product, you don't need much help to figure out what you need to do to capture and edit. Some effects look a bit "cheesy", but I found some really nice transitions and effects quite easily. Burning a 30mn DVD takes quite some time, but it looks like most video editing applications face this issue. What I like is the variety of format you can export to, you even have presets for your iPod that work pretty well. I also exported a video on the web using the YahooVideo feature, pretty easy, but not for private videos! It looks like there's another on-line sharing feature, Studio online for private sharing, I'll look into this. All in all, I pretty much liked Studio 11, no hangs, it covers the formats I need and is really easy to use.

 Don't Bother!, 2007-06-19
Don't waste your time with this software, it will not work at all, period! I spent over two full days just trying to get it to see my DVD Burner, it never did. It is also prone to frequent crashes and glitches. It won't behave the same way twice! I don't know how Pinnacle got this software on the market, but I now have a $50 coaster.

Is this software from 1999?, 2007-06-11
This movie-making software does not even offer scrolling titles or text, unless you upgrade it to Plus or Ultimate version. What kind of so called video editor doesn't even offer that?
This video is bare bone basic video editing, I used to use Arcsoft Showbiz from 2002 and it has better features than this piece of junk. I only upgraded to Studio because the product was compatible with windows Vista, however, Microsoft's movie maker software is even better - how pathetic.
Don't waste your money, now I have to spend another $80 to upgrade to the plus version of this software to get any usability out of it. Then each feature you want to add to the editor is another $20-$100, by entering activation codes. Pinnacle nickle and dimes you every step of the way. This is the last time I will purchase a Pinnacle product.
