Download a graphics tweak and see the incredible difference!, 2008-09-01
I have a 8600gt video card, 3gb ram, and Core 2 Duo Processor. When I first adjusted the in-game video settings, Crysis looked like utter junk. I had everything at "high" (except post processing at "medium") with 1024x768 resolution with no AA/anti-aliasing. The game looked pretty bad, and I was very upset. To make it short, I downloaded a graphics tweak for a mid-range system and everything looks great. With the tweak I use, foliage occasionally pops up, but the textures are very nice. Crysis is definitely the best-looking game I've played. However, Crysis requires a tweak to get suitable graphics and performance.

Gameplay 4/5: linear towards end and enemy encounters can become frustrating.

A great game that is poorly programmed, 2008-08-31
I recently bought a new computer with a 4870x2 card, and a high end duo core CPU. This is the top of the line equipment for a gaming computer.

Crysis should be commended for its ambition to push the gaming technology forward. It is simply a gorgeous game to experience. And I say experience, because there is more than just pretty landscape. The special effects and the overall combat is breathtaking sometimes. As a single player game, it is remarkable, and the non-linear approach to the game makes it a whole lot of fun.

But my biggest gripe with this game is the poor programming that makes this a choppy performing program. Even with my extreme high end dual chip graphics card, 6 months after the release of the game itself, this program is struggling on maximum settings in 1920X1200 resolution. My FPS can go as low as 15. And I can only conclude that this is the result of poor programming on the softwares part. At some point the company has to take responsibility. I have done my part with purchasing the best hardware.

And also take responsibility for its alliance with NVidia. The game runs better with NVIDIA cards as Crytek has chosen to monopolise with Nvidia. But this should not be the case. PC customers should not have to face further difficulties in what is already a complicated and expensive PC gaming medium. The PC gaming medium cant afford this type of BS, and it should not be further split in two with war-ing hardware companies trying to monopolize.

I should be able to play this game, the way it was suppose to be experienced, with such a high end computer.

An Excellent Work of Science Fiction, 2008-08-21
Crysis is a mystery that is slowly reviled in the genre of science fiction. I spent more than half the game wondering why am I fighting this war? It's better not to ask so many questions at once and focus on the missions leading up to the revile.

    Fun game overall, 2008-08-14
I finally decided to give Crysis a go. Being that I don't have the greatest video card, I had to play mostly at medium settings to achieve decent frame rates. But even so, the game was still visually excellent. Game play is somewhat challenging at normal difficulty level the first time thru. Playing it again, I recommend raising the level to keep it challenging. The game is actually kind of short, but it was definitely worth the price. I'm looking foward to soon upgrading from my 1950PRO card and seeing the game at a higher video quality.

Games should all be like this one, 2008-08-10
I love the fact that you have free range of the game and that you use almost any item to your advantage. I can`t wait for Crysis II.
