pretty good for the price, 2008-10-24
I've not used it extensively yet, but it seems to do everything correctly. The brightness and size is very nice, and the ventilation grill holder for mounting the GPS on the car is awesome.
The one complaint I have is that the instruction manual (I can't call it a manual) is extremely skimpy and really does not say anything about how to run this gizmo. I wonder if Amazon.com forgot to send the real manual with the product. I just got some lose pieces of paper that does not say much. I had to experiment to make it work.

A great GPS unit. I used it on a trip and found it very helpful. The larger screen is nice. The unit is easy to use and has good graphics. I like the way it annouces the street name. An excellent buy.

A gift... lost and then found!, 2008-10-24
We bought this item as a gift for our son. It was originally lost in delivery. I fussed with the carrier for a couple of weeks to try to track it down, but to no avail. I spent considerable time at this, but ended up with no satisfaction. I then talked to an Amazon rep, and in a matter of a few minutes they had arranged for a replacement and even upgraded my shipping since it was for a birthday gift. Hardly any time at all and no hassle whatsoever. Kudos to Amazon... no wonder they're at the top of the heap!
As for the Garmin, it's our first foray into the world of GPS. We have nothing to compare it to... but my son loves it. He had it working quickly and seems to love it. He uses it all the time. He has admitted that he is "directionally challenged", and this seems to be helping a lot. I wrestled a bit about buying the smaller version to save some money... but I'm glad I bought the bigger one. No regrets!

Very nice product for the price, 2008-10-22
I bought the Garmin Nuvi 650 for my wife. One of the things that I liked about Garmin is that the unit did not come with the latest maps, but there was a free upgrade for the 2009 maps once I registered my GPS. It also came with suction cup attachment for the car. I thought I was going to have to purchase that seperately.
