 Great product & cheap!!!, 2008-10-13
The nuvi 200 is a great product. It doesn't have the traffic alerts but once you get the nuvi and update it by hooking it up to your computer and downloading updated maps, it will leady you anywhere with ease. It's great for the price!

 Need to get somewhere slow...this is the one for you!, 2008-10-13
I am baffled that no one else has pointed out the obvious with this thing! On several occassion over a 2 DAY PERIOD this thing had me taking the long way just about everywhere I went. It had me going through street lights in Oakland for 12 miles! I later found out that I was running parallel to a freeway the whole time! It would have me take earlier exits than necessary and then I'd take surface streets for miles and miles. I was glad when the 3 hour battery life came to an end and I was forced to get out my big bulky laptop with 5 year old maps and was at least able to get to my destinations without having to add 2 hours onto my trip. When I returned it to Walmart the associate said, "oh, I have this same one! She said she loves it but she doesn't always follow it's directions because it frequently has you going the long way!" Well, if you are like her and have ooodles of time to waste, this is the one for you!

Love my Garmin nuvi. It's reliable and fun and reasonably priced. I didn't want all the bells and whistles and didn't want to have to pay for them. With my Garmin nuvi, I didn't have to.
The Garmin 200 is awesome, 2008-10-05
I bought this Garmin for my husband's birthday. He works as an inspector for the county, traveling on many back roads. He said it has helped him a lot. However it does take him at times on dirt roads when the next road would be paved.
I found it very helpful to read these reviews as I was very conscious that we had an up to date map. I followed the prompts and was very pleased that the Garmin we recieved had a 2009 map.

I found the Garmin Nuvi 200 to be exactly as advertised. This GPS unit is easy to use,and has everything that is nessasary for a great entry level GPS.
I recomend this product to any one who finds some electronic devises to be confuseing. The price of a refurbished one makes this a real deal. We got this GPS as a back up to our DeLorme Earthmate LT-20 laptop GPS, but have decided to use that as a back up and keep the Garmin as our main one in our motorhome,the plus is that it is very mobil and can quickly find your destination. Other reviews criticise a few more seconds of time that they say it takes to find the Satelites, but at this price I don't find that to be a problem I have more time than money. I would recomendGarmin nüvi 200 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigatorthis to my friends.
