Best small camera I've ever had!, 2008-09-30 I love this one. I made everybody in my family buy it. The nice thing is, everybody likes it... from my parents who barely know what "digital" means to my cousin, who is a professional photographer. But obviuosly take into consideration: it doesn't substitute a high end reflex camera... and it's not supposed to. Have fun with it!

PLEASE Don't buy Canon. Faulty cameras., 2008-09-28 I have Canon powershot. Treated it very gently but it broke down with the famous lens error that happens with many Canon cameras "E18" Check the discussions on Consumer affairs dot com.
I like it!, 2008-09-25 I really like this camera.
Only missing feature is IS, but I don't really miss it much as I use a small GorillaPod with it.
The only other negative is that the LCD is not accurate is displaying the picture you took. So an underexposed image shows bright on the back LCD, so watch your histogram.
Great buy, 2008-09-24 My family loves this camera. The only problem is that the 32 MB does not hold alot of pictures but it is my fault because Amazon recommends a memory card of at least 1 GB but I did not read it before I purchased the camera. Will buy the 2 GB card.
Fantastic camera. Fantastic pictures. 1/2 off last year's price!, 2008-09-23 I recently bought this camera for a friend. I bought the identical camera for myself last year, so I have a year's experience with it to share with you. In my opinion Canon makes the best digital cameras. This model was rated the best by Consumer Reports last year and I bought it on their recommendation. They were right. It's great. Amazon is selling it for half of what last year's price was. What a bargain! It's a great all around camera. Very fine color and imaging. The camera can automatically set itself for a high ISO, so indoor pictures are bright even if you don't use the flash. The battery charges in about two hours and one charge lasts for many days. The controls are easy to use. The optical zoom is more than adequate. My suggestion is you also buy a 2 gigabyte chip to go with it since that will allow you to take more than 1000 pictures without unloading the chip. You can get a 2 gig chip for $[...] at [...] and elsewhere. A spare battery is useful, but not necessary. You can buy a clone of the Canon battery online for about half the price of the Canon one. I'm trying to think of negative things to say about this camera, but I can't think of any other than the fact that the door that gives you access to the chip and battery is plastic and seems very flimsy. But I've used the camera for a year and haven't had any problem with it, though I worried about it initially. The newer model has a stabilization feature. This one doesn't. But I haven't experienced any blurry pictures, so I don't think that's important. I love this camera and so does my friend who got the one I just bought for him.
