 Wish there was more to these games(Semi-rant), 2008-11-09
I know this has been out for a while but I wanted to write a review anyway. I have a laptop and did not want to overpower it or install something and it not work properly. But when I read about this game I was excited to see that it would work. The stories were fun to do but when they're done it got a little bit boring. I did the free-play mode and got tired of it quick. I wish that there were some sort of add-ons for these games like the regular version. It seems that EA has all but forgotten about the "Stories" series. The support is not even on the site with the other Sims games it's on Yahoo and I think it may have even been removed from there. I don't regret buying it but I just wish that there was a little more to the game as stated earlier.

It is like playing the plain ole sims with no expansion packs. It is fun at first til you have to go to free mode. It is easier to get from neighbor to neighbor. I was expecting new stuff in it. No cars, it's back to taxi rides.

I have been a SUPER HUGE SIMS fan for many years and this is by far the best sims I have EVER played! If you love The Sims I recommend getting this game it will amaze you with the graphics and the things you can do..ANd when you have a baby sim theres is so much you can do with the baby other than the usual of all the other games!! DONT QUESTION IT JUST BUY IT!! YOULL BE HAPPY WITH THE PURCHASE!!

Great Game, Great Series, Great Price, 2008-05-28
I first played this game a few months ago, and I loved it. It is similar to the sims 2 however it is easier. Unlike the sims 2 there's no bills to pay, no gardener to hire to look after flowers, and no fears. I love the laptop friendly controls. At first I didn't think that i would use them but I use them all the time. I also really like that this game has laptop friendly Specs (doesn't take up much space). One of the things that really makes this game so much fun is the story mode. One of the reasons why i loved the console versions of the sims was because of the story mode that it oftered. To have the story mode now on the pc is wonderful. The guided storys are a lot of fun to play and i plan on playing them again. This game is a great game, in a great series at at great price and is highly recomended to new players of the sims and old players of the sims.

Great for laptops, 2008-05-09
I think people are missing the point of this game. If you are looking for the sims 2 then go buy the sims 2 and expansion packs. I bought this game because the sims 2 won't work on my laptop. This game works great! Yes, it is a really basic version of the sims, but thats what I needed. It does not slow down my laptop at all, and I can play whenever I like, not just on my pc.
For those wondering: This game is only 1 cd, not 4 like the regular sims 2. That should tell you right there how much less space it takes up on your laptop. I still have plenty of space to save my papers and notes for classes, and even install more games (I LOVE Zoo Tycoon as well).
The stories may be short or whatever, but I think people are completely misunderstanding what the creators were aiming for. Eventually I think these games will have expansion packs, and I am excited they have already launched a new website with a few downloads. In the future I am hoping for an exchange just like the regular sims 2 website has.
