I don't really have much to add to the pre-existing reviews, but it's a great machine. It saves me $3per month from modem rental through Comcast. I figured that after 12 months of rental, I would've spent almost as much towards the purchase of my own modem.

This is a excellent product had bought it as a replacement for dlink dcm202. This is a way better product.
Motorola SB5101 High Speed Modem, 2008-08-30
Received the product promply and exactly as advertised. I was having periodic dropouts on my old modem using Cox service. Since installing this modem, I have had no dropouts and I am absolutely delighted with the performance.

Rebate, 2008-08-28
The Motorola surfboard Modem is exactly what I ordered, however, the rebate promised to be a real hassle (Motorolas fault). They refused my rebate and required re-submission of proof that it was eligible for rebate. Now I must wait an additional 6-10 weeks. Perhaps Amazon could clarify this matter with Motorola.

I owned a SB4100 for about 10 years before buying the new SB5101. The SB4100 worked great, but I wasn't getting the extra speed I was paying for with Cox Premium package. A friend recommended I upgrade my modem and I figured after 10 years I might as well. While I do notice a speed increase, this is only due to my purchase of the extra service from Cox. Don't expect this to increase your speed without paying for the premium package.
