cable modem, 2008-01-21 This product was inexpensive compared to comcast cable they wanted 4 times as much for the same product. If you need a modem you can't beat the price
Turbocharge your internet connection speed, 2008-01-18 I had the Motorola SB4100 for the last 6 years, and although I didn't have any major problems with it, recently I started to think that it's limiting my connection speed, because I read that other people in my area get faster cable internet. So I bought the SB5101 and my download speed went from 4000Kbps to 6500Kbps, and my upload from 350Kbps to 1500Kbps. This even surprised me, because I wasn't expecting such a huge increase in the upload speed, which is a huge benefit for me now that I'm running a server at home. My ISP is Comcast, so this modem works great with that service.
Motorola SURFboard SB5101 - Cable modem - external - Hi-Speed USB / Fast Ethernet - 30 Mbps , 2008-01-18 Motorola SURFboard SB5101 - Cable modem - external - Hi-Speed USB / Fast Ethernet - 30 Mbps
I bought this modem because it was the same one that I had been renting from our cable company for internet service. We haven't had any problems with the one I bought from Amazon, or the one that we rented from CableOne.
super cable modem, 2008-01-14 My old linksys cable modem and 4 port switch work so slowly, and the max download speed around 3mb from comcast and up speed around 756 kb, after switching this modem with DLink wireless switch, it boots my download around 30mb (right 30!) at the best time and up speed to 1.5mb. Using the the ISP from comcast service. I am really happy about my upgrade!
Super Easy Self-Install, 2008-01-11 Self-installation of this modem could not have been easier. It only took a couple minutes to hook up the Ethernet cable, tv cable, and power supply unit. When I clicked the Internet Explorer icon on my desktop, a Comcast Cable pop-up window appeared on the screen, which gave me the option of registering my modem via an automated process. So I didn't even have to call the Comcast Cable Customer Service number. If you have Comcast Cable, I highly recommend this Motorola Surfboard Broadband Cable Modem SB-5101.
