    Outstanding Modem, 2008-05-04
Replaced the no-name brand modem that Comcast supplied with this one and the difference was immediately obvious. No more drop-outs during streaming. Steady and reliable, which of course means better speed in uploads and downloads. Remote access to my computer is noticeably better. Not a single hiccup since I put it into place over three weeks ago. Installation was a breeze. No software required; just plugged it in. The hardest part was getting to someone at Comcast who understood about registering the MAC address of the new modem. This is an outstanding modem.

    Does a nice job, 2008-05-02
I'm a computer tech and researched a few other models before getting this one and found it to be the best one for the price. I was tempted to get the newer model that had built-in wifi, but with how fast home wifi technology keeps changing/impoving, I felt I shouldn't look to integrate wifi router + cable modem for now... for ease of upgrading the wifi. This SB5101 works great for my highspeed cable internet service.

Best Cable Modem out....especially good for VoIP, 2008-05-02
This cm is awesome. Better than the 5120 as the 5120 has firmware that does not like VoIP. I highly recommend this for any user!

    Big Improvement in Throughput!, 2008-04-30
I recently upgraded my 6Mbps internet service with Cox to 10Mbps, and was dismayed to find that my max downstream throughput was no higher than 5.8Mbps. Decided it was time to refresh my network attach infrastructure, which consisted of a Belkin N1 Router and Toshiba PCX2200 cable modem (DOCSIS 1.0). Switched to an Apple Airport Extreme router and the Motorola SB5101 modem. WHAM!!! Speed test results on [...] jumped to 19.7Mbps! Zero problems installing, and holds the cable signal tighter than a pit bull. AAAA++++

Once again, Amazon and their Vendor partners come through with a product and price that blows away the local big name ones. After everything saved over $25.00 from the Big Name Stores who wanted $80.00 up front before taxes and such. Thanks again from ATOnline and Amazon for continuing to look for products and offering them to us at a price that makes the deal almost to good to be true.
