Works as expected, 2008-07-25 Here's what I expected when I bought this modem to replace the SB5100 I was renting from comcast:
open box swap modem plug in call comcast and give them the MAC address internet works after 5 minutes
What actually happened was comcast took a couple of hours to get to it, but the modem itself performed exactly as it should. I'm happy.
Motorola surfboard cable modem, 2008-07-25 Works great, especially having a "stand by"switch when you want to deactivate the modem and not unplug it. Running XP on a home wireless network.
Surfboard SB5101, 2008-07-22 Changed my old Motorola surfboard modem which lasted 7 years with the SB5101, set-up was easy, speeds are great, worth the money.
SB5101 Cable Modem, 2008-07-21 The set up was very easy to do & it works very well. The only problem that I have come across is that I have not been able to set up my NETGEAR router to it. When I installed the router to the modem to use my notebook wireless the connection would fail & then work & fail again. Other than that this modem works very well.
Motorola cable modem is a good buy., 2008-07-18 Setting this up was a breeze. With our old cable modem we lost connection with comcast many times per day and connection speeds were not that great, but this has worked great and so far we have only lost connection a couple times during a 12 hour period (in the past month) and I later found out that comacast was having problems, so not the modems fault. Speeds are good on this too!!
