A modern twist to a timeless classic., 2008-11-13
We all remember the classic tale of Walt Disney's masterpiece, Cinderella...a timeless tale of a rag-to-riches beauty finding her happily-ever-after. We also know that Disney's straight-to-DVD movies are hit-n-miss, more often than not they're on the miss side of the equation...but Cinderella III - A Twist in Time is surprisingly good and a refreshing addition to your Disney collection. In the original Cinderella, we meet a young and beautiful step-sister forced to be a servant to her wicked step-mother and her equally depraved daughters...the prince holds a gallant ball to find his future queen and Cinderella's wicked step-mother prevents her from going. Enter the fairy godmother who uses her magic wand...and in a Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo...transform the overwork maidservant into the graceful and beautiful Cinderella...after arriving at the ball in a pumpkin-drawn carriage the prince grasps her hand and falls in love.
In Cinderella III, the wicked step-daughter acquires the fairy godmothers wand and turns it over to her mother who conceives a dubious plot to use the wand to reverse time and deprive Cinderella of her happily-ever-after and have her daughter Anastasia live the story book ending. With a Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo a twist in time is created and the back-wooded Anastasia is the lady that squeezes into the size 4 1/2 glass slipper. However, while the spell reversed the roles of the two sisters Prince Charming senses something amiss when he grasps the portly hand of Anastasia...seeing this, the wicked stepmother uses the wand to cast a spell over the prince forcing him to see Anastasia as his true love.
When the prince finally does run into Cinderella his original feelings for her begin to cloud his memories forcing the wicked stepmother to plot her step-daughter's banishment from the kingdom...and her plan would have worked if not for Cinderelly's two loyal friends, Gus Gus and Jaq. In what has to be one of the most memorable scenes in the movie, the duo break out in song and dance and convey the message of the dastardly plot to the prince. After a quick confrontation with the royal guards and the King, Charming is atop his golden steed and pursues his true love...but the trickery doesn't end there...what will happen to Anastasia? How will the wicked stepmother respond? What happens to Cinderella? Walt Disney studios manages to twist this well-known and beloved classic into a fresh story that is worthy of its predecessor...a highly recommended addition to your Disney collection.
 Really impressed!, 2008-10-12
Wow! I was really expecting this movie to be another bad Disney sequel (Mulan II is especially bad) and was happily surprised. It has a great story and I loved how one of the evil stepsisters is redeemed.
Really happy we bought this one. Out of all our movies, this is one of my daughter's favorites.
Finally, a Disney movie that is NOT scary!!!, 2008-10-12
My daughter and I recently caught Cinderella III on the Disney channel and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a fun story without all the scary stuff that is usually a part of all the other Disney films. Magic is fun, but when it rises out of the sea or appears as an evil witch trying to poison the princess...that is too much for some children. It is a sweet story and your child will enjoy it.
Our LIttle Girl Loves This Movie, 2008-09-21
Cinderella III can't be found in store anywhere anymore. We found this item on Amazon and purchased it for our little one. She had a friend that let her borrow it to watch but of course wanted it back. She is only 3 so didn't completely understand the concept of borrowing. We looked everywhere and could not find this movie. Finally, I looked here and was so excited to see that I could purchase it. THe seller was wanderful. It arrived right on time and was brand new just as stated in the product description.
Great Cinderella Sequel!, 2008-08-14
We got this DVD as promised in new condition. It was a gift for my 3 year old's birthday. Thanks! We love our Disney Princesses and this sequel to Cinderella is a great story and better than the 2nd one.
