Kindle Cover, 2008-09-20 The cover that comes with the Kindle is dreadful. I had problems with the Kindle falling out of the cover. Sometimes it was so difficult to hold that it would cause distractions while reading. I replaced the cover with a much better one and I no longer have a problem.

Worthless piece of junk!, 2008-09-12 This book cover is pathetic by design.
OK, I am not a "moron" as one owner called another.
I can get the thing clipped into place.
The problem is keeping it in its place.
If you don't sit in just the proper style the thing comes out of its case.
I also tore the back cover of my Kindle off trying to get it back into its place.
For $25, why should I have to go out and purchase Velcro to justify Amazon's poor design?
This holder is a recipe for disaster and ruining your Kindle.
The elastic strap used for closing the Kindle is destined to wear down and break at some point.
It is not leather, which does not bother me in the least.
It is the shoddy design of this case.
Amazon should be ashamed to sell or even include this junk in conjunction for the Kindle.
Surely, the expensive price of the Kindle merits a quality case.

Cover falling off, 2008-09-12 I bought the Kindle for my wife as a wedding present because she loves to read. We are both very pleased with the product (not so much with the experimental internet browser, but that's not what I bought it for, so I wasn't expecting too much out of it...actually, it froze the first time she tried to use it and so we just avoid using it at all) but not so much with the cover. She's not having the problem everyone else is complaining of...If you bend the plastic tab a little, it holds the Kindle perfectly. The problem she is having is that it constantly making the back cover (where the SD card and battery are, not the back cover to the case) come off when she opens the Kindle cover or closes it. She doesn't have a problem when she is reading usually, but the back cover to the Kindle is constantly coming off. So the little tab is causing her a different kind of problem that you should also think about before buying this case. I would say just store it in the case and take the Kindle out to read. We love the Kindle, but they should have put more time into designing a much better case for it.

Its the Gray Plastic Lock Stupid, 2008-08-28 if you lock the Kindle into the slot with the plastic tab on the back it wont slide out! Its not rocket surgery! The kindle is really cool and the cover works just fine; never slips out...
Good cover, 2008-08-27 The kindle cover is a fine cover and worthy of far better reviews than most are giving it. It works as prescribed for me and I have needed no tricks like velcro, etc. My kindle is secure and has never fallen out. The back cover also has never been caused to come off from this cover. After about two weeks of use it actually got better and better as it sort of melded to my kindle. I love it. The design could be improved upon yes, but I hear there are flaws with those other, more expensive covers as well.
