LapLink PC Mover Moving Kit, 2008-09-11 This product worked efficiently in a speedy manner. Did not take long to transfer data between computers. Program is excellent, everything is done automatically with a few keystrokes command.
Worked great., 2008-08-30 It did just what it was supposed to do. It moved my programs and settings. I was worried that Microsoft office would require that the product key be re-entered, but it was there and working fine without me having to do anything. I was wary of the product after reading some of the reviews, but no problem moving from XP to Vista even. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to migrate the contents of their old computer to a new one.
Beyond Expectations, 2008-08-25 Wow. After reading the reviews before I purchased PC Mover, I was ready for a big disappointment. To my surprise, this thing accurately migrated all my data and just about all my applications from an XP laptop to a Vista laptop. I was floored. I had done this once before, manually. It took me about a week to do what PC Mover did in a few hours. I'm not saying it was without glitches. I still needed to do some tweaking and adjusting, but very little. Within hours it seemed like I was on my old system. Except for the fact that I was now using Vista and not XP, everything was familiar. Among other things, I accurately moved all the data and applications in Microsoft Office Pro 2003, my lawyer billing program, IBackup, Adobe Acrobat, PaperPort, Quicken, my Desktop, all my internet bookmarks and most, if not all of my settings and preferences. It was awesome for me. Maybe I was just lucky.

Oh how I miss Aloha Bob, 2008-08-13 I've used Intellimover, and Eisenworld's Aloha Bob (before they were bought out) with very little trouble. Yes, you do have to reinstall the essential programs, but in the current software market you have a limited number of installs anyway...They both transferred my files, as per my directions - no problems.
Laplink's product was a nightmare. It requires that the Internet Explorer programs be the same version, and if they aren't, you have to go back and update.... if the updated version is now newer than the other version, you have to go back and update both. They require that you disable all your security software. I don't know if you've ever tried to disable anything made by the wonderous Norton Products of the Symantec company, but those guys don't give up easily. Since the preinstalled security software was incompatible, THAT made the transfer not difficult - but impossible. When I decided to stop wasting my time (nine hours) and attempted to uninstall the Laplink product, I was informed that despite the fact that it had failed to run, if I didn't run it on that computer, it wasn't going to run anyplace else.
Save yourself the pain. Don't buy it. Just transfer the data and go ahead and buy the essential programs again. You'll spend less time in anger management classes.
a big help, 2008-08-04 PCmover was a big help to me in transfering data and prograns to my new PC.
