A Real Bargain for Film Scanning, 2008-10-10
When my old combination document and film scanner broke, I needed a new one pronto, and not too expensive. This is to use for my web blog, where I insert hundreds of old photos. Some of these are prints, others color slides, and still others film negatives. The Canon 4400F does the job quite well, is easy to use, and presented no software problems. It installed instantly. I'm really pleased with this, especially as it was priced right, shipped free, and arrived in just a few days.

Excellent scanner at a good price. Used to digitize numerous slides and photos. No complaints.

Canon CanoScan 4400F Color Image Scanner (1306B002)For my part, it seems to require a great deal of reading. I have difficulty dealing with the set up, than again, I am not a pro at this.

    Slides look great!, 2008-09-26
I LOVE this scanner. I bought it just for slides, and it works wonderful. It took me awhile to determine which direction the slides were to go in so everyone had their wedding band on the correct hand, etc, but after that, things look great. People can't believe the photos I send them were once slides! I am very pleased.

A Fantastic Scanner for the Money!, 2008-09-26
What more is there to say? This is a great scanner, and for the price it can't be beat. Photos come out clean and focussed, it's reasonably quick and works well.

I've hooked this up to two PCs - one Windows XP SP3 and one Vista 64 bit. Both installed just fine and scanned without any additional setup. The bundled editor is fine enough if you need some basic touchup capabilities.

If you need a good consumer level scanner, this is it!
