 Installs itself!, 2006-11-09
My first attempt failed on Core 2 Duo. After Parallels support pointed me to the updated version, it automatically installed (fast, and amazing to watch) and now runs faster than most Windows machines I've used.

 Parallels Desktop for Intel MacOS X, 2006-11-06
After using Virtual PC for years, my first thought is FAST, freaky fast! In a 2.0GHz Core Duo iMac, it is easily the fastest Windows system I've ever used. Windows XP reboots in less than 10 seconds. I also installed NetBSD, FreeBSD, and Fedora Core linux. All work very well.
The only downside is that the Parallels features and interface is not quite as mature as VPC was. But recent updates are improving it and there's nothing like FAST.

fast and stable, 2006-11-06
Winxp can run quite fast and stable in the virtual desktop environment. I got no problem with office, autocad and matlab, etc. No 3D games tests thought, but not a big issue for me.
The file exchange method needs to be improved. Everything has to be shared through shared folders by network. Virtual PC got some convenient way to exhange files by simply dragging files in and out of the virtual desktop window, which I found to be very straightforward and helpful.

I set up Parallels on my MacbookPro without any trouble. One of the reviews I read before I purchased this item said it didn't work, and the author was quite unhappy. So I was very careful in installing this to follow the instructions meticulously, and it worked! The only thing I did't like is that I had to purchase an original copy of Windows XP, but that had nothing to do with the Parallels program. Also, I've tried to install an update of Parallels and I can't tell whether or not I was successful.
The shipment arrived earlier than expected, too.

NIce but limited support, 2006-11-04
Some USB devices don't work. Also, games that require CD-ROM to be inserted all the times, Parallels fails to read it.
