Great Software, but not for Vista, 2009-06-12 Mastercook is a great product. I already owened version 8.0 which did not work with my new Vista software. I purchased this version because the Ad indicated it was compatable with Vista. The box did not indicate this, and it is not.
If you are running another system you will love it. The ability to pull in recipes from the web and other word processing systems is great. I have used it for several years and was very pleased until I had to purchase a new tower, and it came loaded with Vista. With Vista you can't pull in ingredients lists either from websites or word processors.

Dissapointment, 2009-03-23 I bought this because it offered a great deal of features. I installed it and only get an error that an image failed to load, this error comes back about 15 times before I get a full sized brown screen.
Went to get my money back, but getting assistance with that is like trying to prove that the yeti exists... futile.
Go with a different product as this one has no support, doesn't work, offers no trial, and is a waste. There are other applications which allow for a trial (you can know if it is crap before shelling out $$ for it) and still provide service.

Does what I want, 2009-03-10 I've had several versions of MasterCook. It may not be the fanciest software around, but it has always done the job for me. Things I like:
1) It's easy to "size" ingredients by increasing or decreasing the servings. 2) Creating cookbooks is simple. In addition to my own food recipes, I also have a cookbook for ceramic glazes, and another set up for cleaning & gardening recipes. 3) It's simple to share cookbooks with friends who also have the software. 4) It's reasonably priced, and dependable.

so far so good, 2009-02-19 I upgraded from Mastercook 4. This version is considerably better. Converting my old files was easy. I really like the ease of copying web recipes. Makes surfing for recipes more fun and you can paste in pictures.

Good.... BUT, 2009-02-18 This is a wonderful program in general. However, it does not work perfectly with VISTA. I cannot figure out how to change the format of the cookbook the way I did on a previous version of both Mastercook and Microsoft. I cannot use their help menu. Other than that there are some things that are better than the very early version I had.
Seller was great.
