PHAT speeds!, 2008-04-19 I must be crazy! Why did I wait so long to buy a cable modem and dump that ridiculous rental charge from my cable company? Don't know, but glad I eventually did.
Easy to set-up - if you read the quick instructions. I'm sure some people will appreciate the USB connector instead of using the ethernet option, but I prefer the ethernet option. In any case, the instructions clearly say do NOT connect BOTH.
The MSID is easily found on the bottom and relatively easy to read. The hardest part of the set up was getting my cable company to activate this MSID.
Other than that, speed tests were at the high end of the advertised rate, generally faster and more reliable than the rental. I highly recommend this product.
It works, 2008-04-17 WHat else can I say. It works no problems, but just got rid of cable internet.
Comcast could not provision, 2008-04-10 Yes, even thou this unit is given as a rental by comcast, they could not provision the unit I bought. 2 hours latter, no luck, I switched to a Linksys and provisioned in 2 minutes.

Good modem, good value, 2008-04-07 I bought this modem to work with Comcast broadband, and it has worked flawlessly. You do have to call Comcast so they can update their info with the unit's model, mac, and serial numbers.
Works just fine, 2008-04-06 Not much to say, really. This modem works just fine, out of the box. No problems with it, whatsoever. If you've got experience with cable modems and how they work with home networks, swapping it for an existing modem is a painless piece of cake, no need to reference documentation at all. In fact, this replaced a DSL modem in our home network. The only thing that needed "doing" was for the cable tech to call in the MAC address and serial number.
Price is reasonable, performance is as claimed, this is a solid product.
Recommended buy.
