    I agree with azog, 2008-11-15
If they have your component it their database; and they have thousands; it's a very seamless setup. Only thing you need know is how each individual remote is used and the rest is done for you. You can even setup 2 activities for the same thing. I for example like to watch some tv shows with my home theater on and some with it off; especially when everyones asleep. With this remote I was able to setup 2 watch tv activies; one with the home theater and one without. While I know a bit about electronics I'm by no means a guru. Reading what some said about the difficulty programing scared me; but it was a breeze. Only drawback like azog said is the loction and size of some on the remotes buttons

The only remote you will ever need, 2008-11-12
Having used multiple remotes this is by far the best and only one you will ever need, programing is simple and the support is great! If you have multiple devices that you want to control get one now, after my friends seen mine they bought the same remote and thanked me for turning them on to this remote. Try one Logitech Harmony 880 Advanced Universal Remote Control

Great remote with crappy battery life., 2008-11-10
I have had this remote for almost about 9 months and everything has worked great except for the life of the battery. I agree with other users who say that the charging cradle is junk but it does work if you clean the contacts on the remote and the charging cradle. My battery started to go bad after I left the remote off the cradle for so long that the battery went totally dead. Now after charging, I might get 3-4 hours of life out of the battery before being nearly dead.
I had some troubles with the remote not switching one of my inputs correctly on a Samsung TV but eventually worked it out with the advanced configuration menus in the software. On that note, make sure you download the latest version of the software from the Logitech website and install that on your computer, throw the CD away that comes in the box because it will be many versions older than the latest release on the website. The buttons are a little annoying placed but it's not that bad and it seems that some people just need something to whine about. I like how you can load a picture as the background image. A picture of the wife and I makes her ok with the fact of paying this much for a remote. LOL - All in all, make the purchase, you won't be disappointed. Just be sure to clean the contacts and keep the battery from draining completely!

    Works Great, 2008-11-09
Works like as charm and is fairly easy to set up. I wish I would have bought one a long time ago.

FINALLY A REMOTE I WAS DREAMING ABOUT!, 2008-11-07
i love the Logitech harmony remotes! it is so so so cool! I have been reading and considering a Universal remote for about 4 years now! To be honest this is my first (and I think last) remote. I had heard 3 of my friends raving about their Harmony 1's and I was like "do I need to spend 300+ for a decent version!" not anymore! This is a perfect remote under 140! The hold and grip of the device feels solid. The functionality is brilliant. One does need to spend a few hours the first time to get all tiyr activities in order. For me this was a deftely an answer to my 11 remotes for the following devices:

Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 720 720P HD 1600 Lumens
    Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD - Blu-Ray disc player - upscaling
OPPO DV-980H 1080p Up-Converting Universal DVD Player with HDMI and 7.1CH Audio
OPPO HM-31 Certified HDMI 1.3 and 1080p Switch
Venturer HD DVD Player - SHD7000
    Toshiba HD-A1 HD-DVD Player
Panasonic DMR-EZ37VK DVD-Recorder/VCR Combo with ATSC Tuner Black
Panasonic DMR-E80H Progressive-Scan DVD Player/Recorder with Hard Drive , Silver
    Philips old AVReciver
Yamaha RX-V1800BL 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver (Black)
Apple MA711LL/A TV with 40GB Hard Drive

    My activities list includes:
    watch a standard dvd
    watch a bluray dvd
    watch an HD dvd
    watch my podcasts
    Record a DVD RAM video

it opens and closes all the way with one magical button of my choosing! It just feels really really cool to have all these devices with one button!

A must have for any newcomer on universal remotes!
