Batman and Robin's Best Volume Yet, 2005-09-25 I think this was Batman and Robin's best volume yet. I was cheering as soon as I got this volume. Batman and Robin's final 28 episodes. This volume also introduced some new characters such as Ras Al Ghoul and Batgirl. If you like the first two you will love this one. So don't forget to look for The Adventures of Batman and Robin Volume 3 in stores today!

Finished with a bang!, 2005-09-11 This is probably the best of all three seasons. Definately don't miss this one if you liked the other two.

Perfection/Completion, 2005-09-02 Volume Three of "Batman--The Animated Series" completes the original arc of the DC/Warner series, originally aired on Fox (switching to the WB) in the early 1990s. In looking at the animated series, it seems to bridge the 1989 Batman movie and Batman Begins. It also goes far in wiping out the memories of Adam West in the 1960s, the animated Batman cells of that same period, and the SuperFriends' Batman. Being blunt, this was less cartoon and more animated story telling at it's finest; tales told in about 25 minutes with vocal acting that enhanced the story. Credit has to be paid to Paul Dini and the crew that worked on this show--they never let it revert to the campiness of the '60s series, nor did they redo Tim Burton's work in '89 nor 1992. The Animated Series carved a very distinct niche--it was The Batman drawn less for children and more for adults who had followed the character. Let's face it--if you have watched The Animated Series, the Batman:Gotham Knights episodes, or the Justice League; we know this--Kevin Conroy's voice fits Batman/Bruce Wayne perfectly. Conroy catches the gravel and danger befitting an emotionally scarred vigilante in such a way that--and it can only be said like this--Conroy's voice is the one voice that IS Batman's. Take nothing away from Mark Hamill's Joker or Adrienne Barbeau's Catwoman, but it is Conroy's voice that drives the series and makes the tone and the art of it work. Volume Three introduces the Barbara Gordon Batgirl, and also introduces Ra's Al-Ghul to those less familiar with the Rogue's Gallery. Also, Bane is brought in--obviously, not as formidable as he was in the "Knightfall" arc. All three editions of "BTAS" are quality television; again made more for adult viewing than for children. Highly suggested.

Awsome Series - but Disapointing Extras, 2005-08-24 Batman: The Animated series is one of those rare shows where everything works. Everything cliqs - and magic just happens.
This series did Batman right. It made him the Dark Knight, and made us utterly forget anybody named Adam West. Dramatic, timeless - and hailed as one of the best interpetations of Batman EVER - you'll simply love this DVD.
This DVD, particuarly, features new villians Batman faces. Batgirl makes her first appearence, and the Immortal Ra's Al Gual makes this grand enterance into Batman's world, becoming Batman's most challenging villian. This series, in fact, introduced me to such characters like Ra's - making them favorites of my in the comic.
So, if it's so good - why only 4 stars? The special features for this set really stinks. There's a good over-view of how they created and introduced Batgirl - but nothing else. The first 2 Season DVDs probably did indeed use up a lot of the initial behind the scenes - but this disk simply deserved more. Considering Ra's Al Gual is the big villian for the new Batman movie "Batman Begins" - it would have made great sense to do an over-view on him, perhaps even getting Denny O'Niel to talk about his creation. (I would have loved that.)
Perfect series - but lackluster special features leaves me disapointed. Oh - and more commentaries! Only a few are done for each disk - and I really wish they would do it for all. The commentaries are always informative and enjoyable.
