West Wing, 2008-09-30
The West Wing was hands down the best TV series ever. Aaron Sorkin's writing was matchless. I bought the first 4 years for a granddaughter and plan to buy the rest for her for Christmas. Of course, I will encourage her to watch it quickly so I can borrow it!

What a great deal for the first four (and best) seasons of one of the greatest television shows in history. It is only sad NBC didn't continue the show for at least another season, or at least give us a flashforward of say four years, to see how the Santos Presidency worked out and the condition of Bartlet. Regardless, I would highly reccommend this to anybody who is a fan of great writing, direction, music, and art on the best modern television show.
Question for everyone, 2006-07-27
Does each DVD come with a "play all" feature so that I can watch all episodes on one DVD without interruption? It is so annoying to get one season of a show on one DVD and you have to manually hit buttons to watch the next episode.
Is there anyway to tell from the packaging whether this feature is included?

When this show was on TV, I never watched it once. After I watched all the seasons on DVD, I was hooked. Great characters, actors, drama, mixed with a bit of dry comedy, creates episodes I want to watch over and over. My favorite thing about this show: the lighting of the offices, rooms, hallways of the west wing- the warm yet formal inviting glow-I've never seen this achieved so greatly in any other show.
My favorite character(s) are Sam and Toby- I never get bored watching them.

The best television series in my lifetime, 2005-09-24
After reading the other reviews, it's clear that many of us have Bravo to thank for allowing us to see re-runs of the West Wing. I was not able to view the show on NBC, and didn't think anything of it. Roughly one year ago, I was introduced to the show late nights on Bravo, and I've been captivated ever since.
What draws me in, and keeps me watching, is the dialogue. I long for a day when I can work in an environment similar to what is portrayed in the West Wing. Smart people discussing important topics that will impact the direction of a nation.
The character development is exceptional, and the cast shows few weaknesses as they act out the brilliant scripts the writers have spun up for them.
If you aren't familiar with this series, make it a priority. It will restore some level of faith in what major network television can accomplish.
