 Not as good as their cameras, but it works., 2008-01-07
The Swann PCI DVR Card is an affordable card & Software package. The Software is certainly not pretty, or flawless, however once it is set up, it does what it is supposed to, and does it well. It's easy to use and refine to your needs.
I have had trouble getting the software to install after a clean install of windows. FYI: when re-installing windows. Remove the DVR PCI card. Install Windows. Shut down, install card, boot, install software. The software will not install if you re-install windows with the card in the machine.
I also was disappointed to learn that my Mac Laptop, and Linux-based Nokia n800 Tablet are not be able to view the video stream remotely, because they do not support Internet Explorer. I also have had friends with PC and IE 6-7 try with no success. Setting up windows firewall and my router to let the host stream was not well documented. I looked into using a Linux based program but the hardware was not supported. tough luck.
If you solely dwell in the realm of windows you should be fine. I'm still trying to find a universal remote viewing option that works.

Unless you are going to dedicate a single computer to the cams that work with save your money. Even though I had to contact the manufacture to get it to work with my Vista pc, it will Take some IT knowledge to get the program to work.

 Fault of the card, 2007-12-18
This card works only with certain processors and motherboards, something they don't tell you about until it's too late. Unless you like to gamble, buy another brand.
Good Product, 2007-12-06
I bought this DVR Card to replace the one I had in my PC which was very unreliable, mainly the old card would locked up my PC after running for about 2 weeks. All I can say was this card was worth every penny, it was stable and the software that came with it was very easy to use.
Would highly recommend this product.
good pvr card 4 net, 2007-10-30
got the first pvr card and had some conflics with one of my other cards took out the card that was bothering it after messing around with it for a while and finialy got it to work and went and got the new drivers at the swann site for it and now it works pretty good ,went and bought a second card and got them to match up after a while now im ready for 8 cams,over all pretty good set up but you may have a few problems getting the first one to work ok depending what you have in your computer,the second card i got came with the newer drivers on a disk.the manual could be better in the way they explain things or how to expand with alarms, audio and things.
