Great for podcasters!, 2007-06-02 If you are a podcaster or a musician you will love GarageBand!

Lacking some important functionality, 2007-05-23 I bought iLife primarily to get iDVD so that I could take some video clips and put them on DVD. iDVD is a bit hard to use and not exactly intuitive, but the killer for me is that it will not let you pick the output drive, rather it defaults to a particular drive and won't let you change the drive. In my case it defaulted to the internal CD-Rom drive which won't write a DVD. I've done a lot of web searching for a work-around, but found none. There are a number of "maybe" this will work solutions, like hold the control key down when you click burn, but none worked for me. The end result is that the product is useless for me. Also, iMovieHD won't let you pick a temporary drive and given the potential size of the files you are working with, this seriously limits you ability to use the product unless your main drive has lots of space. All in all, I would say that the products in iLife are little better than what you might find on the web free.
too too much!!, 2007-05-23 i had to upgrade my MAC G4 from 10.3 to the 10.4 tiger. it meant i had to buy almost all of the programs again. all i really needed was iPhoto but because of the way it is marketed and bundled i had to spend the money to buy all three. i will never use iDVD, iMovie or iWeb or even the garage band. but it's cool. maybe i'll get creative.
Web publishing for dummies, 2007-05-14 When I wanted a website for my art business, I sought bids. The cheapest I got was an initial $2,000 (a wee bit more than my budget allowed). Two years later, on a complete whim, I bought iLife '06. I'd never even heard of it until I saw it on Amazon a few minutes before I bought it. Four hours after I installed the software, without even reading any instructions, I had a five-page website on .Mac. Also, I was able to copy and paste all the files/pages created with iLife onto my real-world site. Way cool. Plus, the books you can publish and have printed through Apple -- using iPhoto -- are first-rate. BUY THIS

Great product!, 2007-03-29 As advertised and very functional. I had just a little trouble figuring out how to transfer my web pages to the web site on .mac, but it was quite intuitive. Recommended.
