Not as easy as it sounds..., 2008-10-24
I had a bit of difficulty getting this card to work for me, though I have come to the conclusion that the problem lay in either my computer or my OS. I have a Compaq Presario V2000 running Windows XP. I loaded the disc and inserted the card per the directions, but every time I tried to use it, my computer locked up. A hard lock. Ctrl+Alt+Del didn't even work, I'd have to turn it off. After days of searching the internet for a solution, I finally found a site that lead me to a fix. I seems that my computer had loaded the incorrect driver. I had to go in manually and select the right one. After that, it worked like a charm. It works well with my flash drives and my webcam. The only thing I can't get it to run is my USB powered WD Passport 320GB external drive, but I haven't tried using it with the card's included power cord plugged in.

My wife's laptop only had two USB ports to start with and they both became damaged over time. After going without a mouse for a few months, we picked up this 4 port pc-card and it has been a godsend. Now we have all of the ports we will ever need and I didn't have to drop a bunch of money to get the original USBs fixed. Great product at a great price!

works great, my computer didnt have the 2.0 but the 1.0 so being able to transfer data at a respectable rate is really good!

Works great so far. Using about a month and mostly running a wireless mouse with no need for the extra power adapter.
