    More IQueM5 Reviews, 2006-12-14
PROs: I have installed a 4gb SD into my unit and it works perfect. In fact I have been able to put hours of MP3, games and hours of movies/TV shows into it for viewing and play on the go, even a language translator. Generally the maps are accurate, though I have found several annoying errors. The estimated time is within 2-3 minutes of actual trip time unless traffic is encountered.(Excellent) The audio from the car mount is much better than most. The auto off course correction is fantastic in keeping your cool on confusing drives. The mount works very well for me, can be adjusted to most viewing angles.

CONs: My biggest complaint is that if you put the unit away for awhile...and the backup battery drains out (it will drain out even if not turned on), all your setups and everything installed into the main memory is gone! You have to re-install all preferences and shortcuts again when you turn it back on. (SD card is still OK) Also non-Garmin maps run very slowly. Non-Garmin map loads can take 2-10 minutes (time to display full map when GPS function is selected), screen updates run from about 10 seconds to over 3 minutes per change. Do not plan on using in real time with non-Garmin maps. Also the screen is hard to read in full sunlight, not great for hikers. Also sometimes the computed course is not the obvious one. A simple 3-4 turn trip may turn into a 6-8 if the unit thinks for some reason it is shorter. I work sometimes in the mountains, and was amazed that it sequenced me down some so-called roads that no non-4 wheel drive car could have made. The quality of the road is not indicated, so use your best judgement and use the auto off course to get you out safetly.

Garmin iQue M5 Integrated Pocket PC and GPS - Awesome, 2006-11-16
This is a great item. I use it all the time - contacts, calendar etc. and it's also great to have a GPS too all on one hand held. I have used the GPS system quite often and find it gets me to where I want to go. Very user friendly and easy to use.

Unit works good but the mapping software is out dated found some new roads that have opened in the last two or three years and are not on the software. Forward this to Garmin and tell them if the sell A product as new the mapping software should be current also.

Great by itself...but not for a guy with a MAC, 2006-11-09
The GPS is good, the other features are solid, my only real problem is that this product does not support Apple Macs. I was lucky that I happened to have a windows machine, but this system won't allow map downloading of maps with a Mac computer. This could better be explained by the web site. There are programs that you can pay for to help, but nothing makes it possible to get maps from the Garmin web site. They promise that compatability will happen soon. We shall see.

Other than the Mac issue, the unit has been flawless. It has Jawbreaker, which, well, this review would have been written much sooner if that game did not exist. It is a family addiction now. All in all, I love this thing, and I would love it more if it supported Mac.
