Plays just fine on my old G3, 2007-03-22 I've read a few of the reviews and have to disagree with some. We have a dual 533 MHz PowerPC G4 with 1 GB SDRAM running OSX and while it's an older machine it's running Sims2 fairly well. No it's not as fast as it is on our PC and I agree with the statements about the difficulties of porting games to Mac but I'm still able to lose myself for hours in the game without noticing the lag time too much.

The Sims, 2007-02-23 Games good, very addicting kind of like pringles chips, once to pop you just cant stop. For it to be really fun you kind of need the expansion packs.

Love it!, 2007-02-16 I love this game! It's SO addicting! I played the original Sims, and so it's a blast to play this new version, which is much improved in a lot of ways. The graphics are amazing, the 3D format is really engaging, and the build, buy, and Sim-design options are more extensive and modern (flat-screen TVs! Mohawks!). Sims don't have as much trouble maneuvering around furniture this time; interactions are more realistic (you can "Woo hoo" under the covers or in the hot tub; Sims can move in together without getting married; pregnant Sims get morning sickness!; and you can go shopping in the neighborhood).
It's a little frustrating when you spend time furnishing a house because all of the furniture disappears if a Sim moves out, and there's no auto-save function, so if the game freezes (this has happened to me twice), you can lose some of your progress, although you can save manually as you go along. And I wish more of the expansion packs were made for Mac, especially Glamour Life. But you can download a lot of free extras through the Exchange of the official Sims 2 Web site.
All in all, I would highly recommend this game. Just make sure your hardware meets the requirements!

=/, 2007-02-11 I went to the shopping center to purchace the Sims 2, or maybe a Sims game. I have a macbook, and when i tryed to install the sims...it didnt work. fun? no. I sat there for about 2 hours trying to get this Sims to work. I called almost every apple store there is possible to see what was wrong. They told me mulitple times to call EA(electronic arts) the makers of the Sims, to ask if it works on Mac. I couldnt find the number, therefore tomorrow I have to go to the store return it, and get a new one that works on Mac. I have played this game on PS2 and on my friends PC and it was amazing. Try it. Im telling you its very good, especially if you like to create a family and build multiple house and buildings. you can even have babies...if you know what i mean ;]
alright peace out. buy the game!

Sims 2 is phenomenal, 2007-01-15 I bought this game for my husband and it is extremely fun and addictive to both of us. The only thing is I need more memory then 256, mainly because my husband uses the cheats and basically fills a home with every expensive piece of furnture available, lol. If you are on a mac, beef up your ram. It will just run slow at times if you start adding on more things. However, as far as the game goes, new aspects added make this game seem almost like these sims have a life of their own, we have been surprised many times by spontaneous actions never expected, I don't know how they did it but they did. There are now many more variables attached to a sims qualities, like neatness or outgoing, this will determine who the will like are if you are going to be able to get them ahead, I like the variance in personalities, there seems to be more differences now. Also, I enjoy being able to get close in on the sims and see their faces, great improvement from sims 1. My husband and I always build us in the game so it is fun to see how much our characters DO act like us. Course it is always fun to build in friends and relatives and any undesirables (boss) and eventually make their lives miserable. Great catharsis. This is an excellent game, my cudos to the developers and team, you amaze me.
