Well Worth It!, 2008-11-13 I know that after buying the theatrical releases on DVD, I was not happy about having buy them again at a higher price. I resisted buying them for long time, until I saw the extended Fellowship and Two Towers on Starz. I had to admit that these versions made the originals obsolete. You cannot see them again without missing the added content. As they never showed the extended Return, I had buy this set to see it for the first time. All three films are transformed into a new viewing experience, both in story content and picture/sound quality. I noticed, in addition to the full scenes that were added, the action and fighting sequences were more complete and detailed. It is quite a difference from the theatrical versions. The full scenes are not filler or obvious cuts like in other films, but are essential parts of the overall story that were cut because of time constraints. This is a must have for anyone loves the books and the movies, I guarantee you won't watch your old versions ever again!

If looking for subs in spanish... THIS IS NOT YOUR ITEM!, 2008-11-10 Its very extrange that all the three movies has english and spanish subtitles except the 1rst one (The fellowship of the ring), so I did ask for a change... the change was quite quick but.... THEY SEND ME THE VERY SAME PACKAGE WITH THE VERY SAME MOVIES WITH THE VERY SAME ISSUE!. After lot of calls one "wise" girl told me they can not control what the distributor "sends".
Anyway... very disapointed experience. Regards Martin
Extended Lord of the Rings Trilogy, 2008-10-30 These movies are awesome. I love the extra scenes, if I have the time I always watch the extended editions. They do tell more of the story and are not simply special effects.
Amazing!, 2008-10-29 If you liked the original Lord of the Rings movies you'll be absolutely mezmerized with this packaged set filled with scenes deleted from the first film releases. Yes, it does make for a very long movie; each of the trilogy being a good 4 hours long, not to mention the extra perks included on additonal DVD's in each package, but it is very well worth the time and money spent to enjoy them. A perfect way to prepare for those long cold winter months ahead!
Buy the greatest trilogy in history for your DVD collection!, 2008-10-29 This collection contains three of the greatest movies ever made in a great display case. The DVDs look great on my TV and there are many commentaries to be watched. There are also tons of extra features like concept art and genealogies that you can look at. This collection also shows all the extended and new scenes in the movie itself, like images of Gil-Galad fighting and a drinking contest between Legolas and Gimli.
