PalmOne Zire 72s, 2005-09-16 This is my first handheld and so far I am really enjoying it. I don't use it for hours on end, so I like the battery life. My father has the Zire 31 and I knew that I would like a souped up version of his for a little bit more of the price. I still have to purchase an expansion card and so far the prices seem reasonable on those. I have not yet utilized all the capacities for this device, but if I had, I'm sure it would receive 5/5. The warranty through Amazon was better than most I've seen, I like the color, screen-size, and the programs it comes with. Now all I need are some games.

Watch out for the power jack, 2005-09-09 I had my Zire 72 for 1 week and the little post inside the power input broke off in the adapter plug.
I hope others can learn from me. Don't be nonchalant in plugging your unit in.
DO IT CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY EACH TIME.
I liked my old Palm pilot better. It was a Sony Clie SJ33. Even though it was only a Palm OS4, it was a workhorse that was well built and had it where it counted. I'd consider just going back to that.

Would Be Wonderful If It Could Hold A Charge!! , 2005-09-01 I would be utterly ecstatic with the Zire 72 if it would just hold some kind of charge. It needs to be charged every single day!!! Nowadays, with the millions of things that everyone is trying to keep up with, remembering to plug this in every night is a real problem. The features are wonderful and very useful. I love every single option on the Zire. It's just too bad they can't come out with an extended battery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS - This is my third PDA and both others held a charge for at least a week.
Worst support in a fabric defective device, 2005-08-28 After a week using this device it started to show a grey L with horizontal stripes at the left bottom of the screen. The worst part came when I contacted Palm support, and after I tried with their help a soft reset, a warm reset and a hard reset, and they admitted the device had a problem, they were not willing to receive the machine, and they wanted me to return the device directly to Amazon. This was the worst support I have recieved in my life. I felt my money means nothing to Palm. I'd recomend to anyone to buy an iPaq instead.

Would be great if you could find one that works., 2005-08-23 I owned a Zire 71 and decided to upgrade to the Zire 72 since the 71 served me well. I gave the 71 to my mother now I have no PDA. The first Zire 72 was defective so I exchanged it. The second one was defective so I returned it and purchased another one from a local store. The third one was defective so I exchanged it. The fourth one will be returned today. The technical representative with Palm said that if I purchase through them then I can get technical support. I thought that was provided even if purchased from a third party vendor. Maybe they don't give you accurate answers unless you buy directly from them. Unfortunately I purchased all of the necessary accessories for it which I can't return because the case is customized ( also expensive). Since the 71 was so reliable I thought the 72 would be also.
This product has great reviews. Maybe those individuals purchased all of the good ones. I'm extremely disappointed and that's putting it mildly.
