I found something easier, 2004-11-18 Microsoft Money was too complicated for me. I needed a simple and supportive program so I joined MoneyPants.com. It's a web-based easy to use financial software that tracks money. Since I DON'T have major investments or complicated finances this system is PERFECT for me. It's colorful and makes me look forward to putting in my transactions every day.

Not sure what the fuss is about, 2004-11-17 I have been a money user for quite some time. I think the new version is excellent. No issues here. It is a real change with new features. It seems to me that often its hard to tell what is new with an upgrade aside from the money you just paid in. Here there is a really new looking interface. I think all of the negative reviewers are just sour on Microsoft. This is the best financial package out there by far.

Synchronization Just Doesn't Work, 2004-11-17 I will add my two cents to the other reviewers that have had a "nightmare" with synchronization. I, too, have found that my accounts which previously existed in Money 2004, do not synchronize properly. I get duplicate accounts created rather than transcations being downloaded to the existing account. Apparently, Microsoft now uses a service called Yodlee for account synchronization and, in my opinion, it just doesn't work. Microsoft Tech Support's solution? Export all transactions from EACH existing account, delete the account, set up a new account, and import all transactions. Yeah, right! If Microsoft won't fix the problem (as they should) it is just as easy for me to convert to Quicken then it is to do what they suggest as a "fix".

Horrible - save your money!, 2004-11-17 Apparently I have been hired as an unpaid software development engineer for the Microsoft Corporation. From spending countless hours on the phone with well meaning but english incompetent "technical support" personnel to solutions that were not fruitful I have yet after 6 weeks of product ownership have the full function of this "upgrade". Like several reviews around me, I was well pleased with the 2004 edition and thought the Amazon rebate promotion made sense for an upgrade. My primary problem stemmed from converting my 2004 file to 2005 which caused my machine to crash on numerous occasions, completely locking up the available memory for any other functions. It was only after recovering a temporary file and saving once again as a money file was I able to open the program and review my data. This conversion and the lack of customer support have me looking seriously at a "Fisher Price" (Mac) where the idea would have been laughable to me 1 year ago.
Abandon ye all hope who enter here.

Doesn't work with any of the Banks I use!!!, 2004-11-10 I thought this product was sweet at first. The GUI is nicer than Quicken, and everything flows. The only thing wrong, and this is a major, major problem with the software is that it doesn't sychronize with any of my banks.
I use T. Rowe Price, Bank of America, Fidelity, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, and American Express.
The only one it sync's with is AMEX. I'm not doing something wrong, I'm an IT guy and they show them listed, but for some reason it won't synchronize.
On the other hand, Quicken sync's with all of them. Every last one of them. No downloading of statements and importing etc. This prog is a big failure guys, sorry. Fix the Sync and I'm back on board. It's that simple.
