Most interesting Myst I've played, 2008-07-09 Ok, I was fascinated by the original Myst back when it came out. However, after awhile it got boring, too many puzzles and, for me, not enough storyline aspects. I have the same feelings about Riven and Exile. Myst Revelation is much better from this standpoint, and the in-game journal/camera makes things much easier as far as getting the clues one needs (I'm horrible at sketching). There is also much more information surrounding the characters, giving more dimension to the mystery. For whatever reason, the puzzles are easier for me in this game, although it may be because I'm more engaged with getting to the next step to find more clues. Haven't finished a full game yet, just having fun taking my time to get there. Beautiful graphics, game works perfectly on my Vista platform.
Excellent , 2008-05-21 One of the most outstanding Adventure games that I've ever played. I have a library of Myst games. Outstanding!
amazing!, 2008-04-05 If you've ever played a myst game before and enjoyed it, there is no question. BUY THIS GAME! Some of the puzzles are extremely hard, and you have to make sure you download the patches from the games website. The environments are so detailed and lush I can't imagine how it must have been created. The movements appear much clearer than the movements in Exile, with so many detailed moving objects. A great new feature is a camera that you can use during the game to record important clue images in your environments. Some of the acting is a little corny but that kind of just adds to the surreal feel. All in all this is a GREAT game. Be prepared to play for months.
Engaging and immersive..., 2008-03-25 Just finished Revelation. I can't say I did it 100% on my own, but with a little assistance from time to time from Internet walkthroughs, I am satisfied with the outcome. Some of the puzzles in this installment are difficult. Just a hint; take care to record everything throughout the game, since the later solutions were found in seemingly obscure clues in other ages earlier in the game. A nice touch on Revelation is the snapshot camera. Potential clues to later puzzles can be photographed and a device keeps track of your snapshots. Endlessly useful and allows for many less written notes than earlier Myst installments. My problem was that I didn't record some key clues in the form of snapshots, so I was missing this information later in the game. My recommendation is: take photos of everything. The movie cuts in Revelation draw you into the Myst world and the use of live actors in well played cut scenes really make you feel like a part of the story. Even with the occasional help, I still felt like I accomplished something at the end of the game. Movement through the ages in Revelation are by click and redraw, but the ability to look around is better than earlier Mysts. There is plenty of live action rather then just being presented with photographs. Each installment gets better and better in this regard.

Not for the whole family, 2008-01-08 Great storyline, great puzzles, great game altogether.
However, I'm surprised to find profanity (Achenar's Journal) and somewhat disturbing images of of a "kidnapping" (Memory Chamber flashbacks) in this game. Did they 'really' have to put this in there?
