Adobe Video Editing, 2005-05-02 If you are looking at Premier Pro, you've probably already had multiple frustrating failures with other Products like Pinnacle and Ulead. You won't have those failures with Adobe. It has a lot of complex tools but once you get the basics, it's a breeze. I would recommend buying the "Classroom in a Book" if you need some tutorials. You don't get any technical support unless you pay extra (I did and I've made them earn it). I bought the suite and felt it was well worth it, but if you just want to edit your video and burn a disk, you might not need that much firepower (or want to spend that kind of money).
After Effects is an amazingly complex bit of software but does some fantastic stuff. I definitely needed the tutorials for it.
Encore allows you to set up menus - beware! This part is video-card-memory-intensive (so is After Effects for that matter). Make sure your system can handle it.

What can you say about this collection, totally awesome!, 2005-01-08 Here you have Adobe's video collection. I've had it for almost a year and use parts of it. Almost every day. I'm a homegrown editor, and it took awhile to learn the intricacies of this very complex set of tools. If you're looking to buy this then you most likely need it.
I will going to explain what each program does and what it doesn't do because if you need that explanation. And you shouldn't be buying this way too complex.
What I wanna say is, if you wanna buy Adobe Premiere Pro or aftereffects professional. Do not buy them individually by the collection. It's so much cheaper it's insane, if anybody buys the individual units I will have to throw myself off my porch! I mean, I don't know how somebody could or would dish out $600 for premiere Pro or $900 for aftereffects professional and not just by this whole package, which in net to Photoshop encore and audition to!
Those are my thoughts, if you want to make complex DVDs edit videos and add special effects tweak audio and edit photographs like a professional than Adobe has the package available to you. I love it so much (I did not buy the Company). I bought the software.
