    Pretty good.... but, 2004-10-03
What was it that made the original Marvel Universe so great? So many things... The collection of issues listed on this CD here (Tales Of Suspense #59-68 from 1964) are definitely must-haves for any Marvel fan and they are definitely one of the reasons why Marvel Comics was on top of its game for so many decades. You get Captain America's first 10 modern solo adventures on this CD (Though some of the storylines are War Flashbacks too). Each issue on this CD is done in an eye pleasing "PDF" style which means you can zoom into the images without any real distortion. There's even an option for you to print out entire issues on your home printer in colour or in a special "Black And White Outline" mode!

What could have made this CD pack even better would be the inclusion of the first issues that were actually titled "Captain America" (when he got his own comic series again). It also would have been nice to see a few pre-modern Cap issues too, when he was still fighting with The Invaders team etc................ Oh and not including "CAPTAIN AMERICA #1" from the 1940's on this CD is a really BIG mistake!

Another problem with this CD is that only half of the "Tales Of Suspense" issues are presented here. What I mean is; "Tales Of Suspense" consisted of two heroes stories included into one book. These 10 issues should have also included 10 Iron Man stories as he is on all the covers presented in this CD. The Problem is that the Iron Man stories have been cut, so technically, they're only including half of the issues listed.... You can't say that you've read: "Tales Of Suspense #62" because technically you've only read half of it. Plus some of these Iron Man stories looked very cool which is a shame! You wouldn't buy the comic from a store and expect 50% of the pages to be torn out now would you?

Other than that, some of the later and really important issues as bonuses would have been cool too. A few issues that ranged through the late 1960's to the late 1990's where the original Marvel Universe ultimately met its demise. Some ideas would be: When Steve Rogers was forced to retire and was replaced by John Walker, When Steve Rogers returned to the role of Cap, The eventual returns of Red Skull & Baron Zemo, The super-soldier serum eventually wearing off and so on.... These storylines could have made some great bonus issues or they could even make a great follow-up CD. That aside, this Digital Marvel Comic CD is pretty good despite its problems.
