Falls Apart at the End, 2007-10-24
Great game, until it devolves into a mindless beat-em up with wave after wave of spawning enemies spamming you to death. It's like some other developer finished the game and turned it into a console button masher. And the switch to third person during hand-to-hand and melee combat doesn't help.

It starts out great though, so if you can handle TONS of combat for the last third of this game (remember to put ALL exp. points into combat related skills during and after the much maligned sewer level) buy it.

Best game of all time it needs a sequel, 2007-09-22
This is my favourite game of all time, its a game you can play over and over again due to the different endings you can get depending on your decisions. Also you are able to pick a character to build on over the game from one of the 7 clans which most of them give a quite different game play. Only negatives are this game really needs the patches downloaded off the net, they are all free and make the game run smoothly as you can have game crashes like i've never experienced with any other game. 5 star ++ game

A game that the developers should've worked more on!, 2007-07-19
Team-based online gaming -- choose to be a vampire or a vampire hunter
??? I do not remember seeing that feature or mode when I purchased then installed it.

Starting out I was a class that was into combat. Okay, typical hack n slash FPS RPG. Then my friend suggested that I should try out a character that was not heavily into combat, but communication. So I created a male Toreador and had an absolute blast seducing people. The voice acting and dialogue is great! SO much can happen depending what you choose to say or do. The music was another plus. IT fit the setting of White Wolf's LA ruled by Vampires. The story is really interesting as well. You'll be wanting to continue the story rather than dance at the clubs. Like Knights of the Old Republic, this made me be careful with my choices. I would save the game in several spots to see what the different conclusion would be.

However, the biggest issue was the gameplay itself, and that usualy hinders away from enjoyable. Getting frustrated at certain graphical issues kept me from thinking this was a great game... even though I really enjoyed playing this!
    Annoying load times
    bland character movements
    random glitches
Also not having a character creation mode was another downer.

RPG lovers should check out this title. I'm not sure if there is any other game that lets you play as a vampire like this. I really wish the developers of this game try to ressurect it, improving the downers of it and make a great title using the next generation hard ware game makers have now. Buy it cheap though!

Fun concept but bad game play, 2007-05-07
it was a great idea but the graphics and glitches brought it down

    best rpg in years, 2007-05-06
If you want to play an involving, creepy, filled with eye-candy rpg, this is it.
    GOOD:
    1. Chracter choice really affects gameplay.
    2. Amazing graphics ( really--the surf rolling in, downtown L.A. at night, clubs where your character can dance etc etc.. )
    3. Creepy and gruesome as hell ( like the Haunted Hotel--made me jump ha ha ).
    4. Fast moving! ( after slogging through Morrowind, which I liked, this was a relief..)
    5. Good, involving storyline.
    6. Spectacular spells. I am playing a Tremere, one of my spells is blood-purge. Yuck!
    BAD:
    1. I don't like the switch to third-person for combat, but it's not really done badly, just a personal preference. But I'll take off a star because you have no choice.
    Sum up..
Now I hear the game shipped with all sorts of bugs and loose-ends but the fan community has released some excellent patches and I've yet to experience any game-stopping bugs. It runs flawlessly on my less-than stellar system: AMD XP, 1 gig of RAM and 128mb Nvidia card.
If you liked System Shock, Ultima Underworld or other story driven ( as opposed to hack and slash ) RPG's you will love this.
