Motorola Surfboard SBG 900 Wireless Cable Modem, 2008-02-11
I have been extremely pleased with this modem. It is compact, easy to install, and efficient. It is very secure. I would purchase it again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend it. The price was very reasonable, I thought.

    its ok, 2008-02-01
Most of it works just fine. Yeah its nice to have a modem and wireless gateway all in one but it doesn't always work with my setup.

I have a voip phone. It is the only thing plugged into the modem. Everything else is wireless. Whenever the phone rings all wireless connections are dropped. I would assume this to be the case with any wired connection that causes a jump in bandwidth use. This is extremely obnoxious! I'll probably send it back and go back to my old modem and router setup.

Eliminated network disconnects, easy install, great customer service,, 2008-02-01
I struggled for months with a Linksys wireless G which my Dell laptop would disconnect repeatedly and with their abysmal customer service. a continuing source of frustration. I was impressed with the reviews of this Motorola and now after a full week without even one disconnect I'd like to say the favorable reviews are accurate. The device and the accompanying software made installation a breeze. I had a question though and called customer service. I was so pleased to get through to the service rep in only moments, he was based in Denver and actually listened to my question rather than reading from a pre-programmed script. And he knew the answer. What a pleasant difference. I highly recommend it.

    Excellent !, 2008-01-27
I have had this wireless modem Gateway for 6 months now, and I only had to restart it once!
It is very easy to set up, and it makes our wireless internet experience run smoothly around the house. We have maximum intensity in all rooms. In summary, an excellent product.

    (Update)

I have had this product for almost a year.It is EXCELLENT! I only had to restart it once in this entire period.

Easy installation - works with Comcast, 2008-01-26
No problems installing this - except my Comcast help guy suggested it would be better to get their router. I just had to go into a windows menu to enable Wifi, after telling him I still had no WiFi. After that, it's been sweet city being able to use my laptop anywhere in the house or yard. Nice piece of gear - you own it, and don't have to rent it from Comcast forever.

A little tip I just learnt from a Comcast phone help person: When you lose your internet service, shut off all computers using that service in your home, then "powercycle" the modem, i.e., pull out the power cable for thirty seconds, then re-insert the power cable, let the modem come up (it should be OK now and the lights 3 and 4 should be indicating internet service is present - they blink when it is gone), then turn on your computers and you should have your internet service back. Phew! Easier to do than to say. It took months before anyone at Comcast told me this. Maybe they like to keep customers dependent and insecure.
