    Only worked once, 2007-01-13
After some difficulty the software worked to pull data off an old Motorola phone. I have continuously updated the software during the allowed 6 months after purchase.

I try to connect my new LG phone and it can't find it. I have followed all troubleshooting instructions, and installed the drivers, tried 2 phones.

The software has excellent packaging, a lot of desirable features, if only they would work.

I only wish I had read the reviews first, 2006-12-19
This product is garbage, don't buy it. If someone offers it to you at no charge, don't accept it. Please do your homework. I wish I had.

Avoid the middle man - flush your money straight down the toilet !!!, 2006-11-14
Truly a waste of money. Useless level 1 tech support. Obnoxious phone queue forces you to listen to their terrible audiotext message over and over and over again every 15 seconds. No toll free tech support.

Our install insisted upon Admin credentials while in fact the install was being done in Admin account. Junior tech support gave us a workaround. That didn't help.
Then they sent us an applet so they could get a snapshot of our system info. Still no help.

Getting ready to call the credit card company and file a dispute.
    DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!
I WISH I HAD READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS FIRST !!!!

Very frustrating product - no support, 2006-11-09
I hate to say but I am very frustrated with this product and support is nonexistent. We purchased the enterprise unlimited edition and have found MANY phones are not supported. For 3 days I have been trying to update the software hoping that would solve our problems. But the product will not let me update unless it is registered on the web. When I try to do that I am told the serial number is wrong. The serial number is VERY difficult to read on our edition and when I called I was given a key to validate over the phone but that is not enough to update the home. I have opened two trouble tickets, and left a phone message and have not heard back.

    Works fine, 2006-10-27
With all the negative reviews, I ordered with trepedation. But everything worked out fine.

I had no problem with ordering or order delivery. (They could have shipped a day earlier, but no big deal.)

I used it to pull the phone data off my Motorola Timeport 270c. (Yes, it's an old phone, but, hey, back in the day it was way before its time.) That worked without a hitch.

Then came the job of merging with the data on my LG VX5300 (brand new phone, only one I've seen with both bluetooth and AMPS). Using the USB interface, I pulled a few numbers off the VX5300 into a new phonebook, did some copy/paste to move the old numbers I cared about into the new phonebook. Then I trasferred this new phone book back to the LG. I was concerned about losing some of the info that DataPilot does not sync (e.g. "group") in a read/modify/write sort of operation, but that wasn't a problem.

I also used DataPilot to pull data out of my Outlook calendar and write it to the VX5300. That works okay. I'd prefer a smart hotsync operation that would allow merging of different calendar data from the Phone and Outlook, but DataPilot is not that smart. It pretty much wants to overwrite whatever's in the phone. So, if I've entered events on the phone, I need to manually merge these into my Outlook calendar. (Also, the phone doesn't have any place to story the "body" of the meeting message, so I'm going to have to cram more info into meeting titles. But that's a limitation of the VX5300.)

I haven't tried the Bluetooth adapeter yet. The USB adapter charges my VX5300, so that may be the primary mode of connection for me.

    I haven't tried internet/modem functionality.

    Reading pictures worked fine.

    I haven't tried ringtone functionality.

Overall: It works. The calendar access seems to work primarily by performing basic read/write rather than a sophisticated hotsync.
