This game is a great way to spend an afternoon. You start off with a mystery, only to realize as you travel that each mystery has a link to a bigger mystery. If you think you can just speed through this, you will die. Clues and items needed to get items to get to clues are hidden and you have to figure out how to use them. Different keys open different doors and there's plenty to explore, but not so much that you throw in the controller. I found some of the puzzles to be confusing; you have to reset pipes so that no water leaks and each pipe moves another...No help from the rest of the gang. I think the fact that 100 Frights was more difficult made people see this as they did. It won't take a college age person longer than an hour or two in the afternoon, but it's worth a rent -or buy if the price is down.

Better for Little kids then the first....., 2005-01-13
I bought night of 100 frights for my 5 year old daughter b/c she LOVES Scooby... well to be honest to was to hard for her after awhile to play & so I played & she watched... & Loved it! When this came out I thought it was going to be the same thing so I wasn't going to buy it but when her birthday came up, it's what she asked for.... Well this game looks & feels more like the cartoon, which she prefers & for the most part can play a lot more of this game by herself without mommy's help, which makes her feel good & me feel wonderful b/c I don't have to sit there & play it for her.... I would say this is a much better game for the younger crowd... for older kids, stick with night of 100 frights.....

    Great Starter Game, 2005-01-13
I have an Eight Year Old, Six year old and a Four year old. They are all big Scooby Doo fans and they love this game. They are probably not representative of hard core game players, because they only played PC games before and we are new to PS2.

However, the "feel" of this game is that you are in a Scooby Doo episode, complete with jokes and canned laughter. As it is a learning experience for all of us, it is taking time to get through the game, so they are not growing bored with it quickly.

At times the game can seem a little slow, too much dialogue and not enough action, and I can see that becoming a problem in future.

But, for the moment, it is fun. It is very much aimed at young children, with no adult language or themes, no blood, guts or murder. All in all I think it was a good purchase to get the kids into PS2 games.

    Nothing special, 2004-11-12
My 8yo got this as a gift. We wouldn't have bought it, because he doesn't even like Scooby Doo, and he probably didn't play it for more than 5 hours - he got bored halfway through. Although it is a fun, harmless adventure for kids, and it has a wonderful Scooby retro feel to it, it just isn't gripping enough to hold interest.
