Best gaming magazine, 2005-03-19 Gamestop forced their November 2001 issue on me (the Metal Gear Solid 2 issue) back in 2001 and I'm still a subscriber. They a huge, world exclusive articles on upcoming games, previews, and reviews. It's also great to read the three or four classic reviews that they include at the back of the magazine for games ranging from the NES to the Sega Genesis to the N64. Every April they have a feature called Game Infarcer, which is an amusing parody on the magazine. It used to be hilarious (my favorite was the "Manhunt On Ice show") but ever since Justin and Kristian left, it hasn't been as funny. Game Inoformer itself has a lot of humor in it and I often find myself bursting into laughter. It's a great magazine, altogether. I just wish they'd bring the blurbs back (where the editors write a few paragraphs on their thoughts), and it's to bad that a few features aren't as funny as they used to be when Justin and Kristian were around (game research and development is hardly even worth a glance anymore whereas it used to be hilarious).

Seems to Have A Split Personality, 2005-02-18 I subscribed to Game Informer about..... uh, 4 or 5 months ago, because I was thinking about dropping another gaming subscription. The first issue I got, I noticed in the small print on the Staff page that the magazine was funded or backed or put out or whatever by Gamestop. You know, the video game sales chain? Oh great, I thought, this is gonna be a cheery, all-positive buy-more-games propaganda mag. The wierd thing is...... it has a buttload of personality, and the captions and some of the writing bits are the funniest I've ever read in a magazine!! Then I got to the reviews section. They have 2 people review every game (with one of them getting a little sidebar thing at the end), which is nice, but with virtually every friggin' review, the 2 reviewers give the game THE SAME SCORE. That makes me wonder what's going on. Are they agreeing beforehand to give some games positive spin? I dunno, cuz the actual reviews seem really well-balanced and fair, not like Nintendo Power, where they gloss over the bad. Also? The rating scale is from 1 to 10, with 7 being "Average". I like it. That is all. I recommend this mag, especially if you're a younger kid, like preteen or below. Clean, pretty well-balanced reviews, and funny as hell!
I've Read All Gaming Magazines..Here's My Review, 2004-12-22 I use to just read just Electronic Gaming Monthly. One month I picked up a Game Informer at Game Stop to read what they thought of a game I was interested in, compared to EGM's review. I was hooked once I searched through the magazine. This magazine is the best multiplatform gaming magazine ever made. Game Informer is a huge magazine. And that is just not once in a while. It is packed everyone month. Packed with what you may ask. Is it full of ads? To answer your question-no. Not to say that it does not have it's fair share of ads. (A magazine can't survive if it does not have ads) But, the GI crew put all their hearts into each and every issue and it shows. The magazine always has world exclusive cover stories which amazes me every month when I get it out of my mailbox. The previews are amazing and the reviews are solid. It looks like that instead of depending on magazine design, they pack every issue chalk full of big pictures (which is a good thing) Finally, the section in the back with all the old video games and stuff, is one of the best columns. Not without its imperfections, Game Informer is the best vieo game magazine ever.

The One And Only!! =-D, 2004-07-18 This is the big one. If your a serious gamer,or just play for fun,it don't matter. This is the only magazine for you. It covers every thing from the all mighty XBOX to the gameboy advance. It tells you every thing you would want to know about that one game that you think you should buy, but aren't sure,or a game you want to buy but it doesn't come out for like 3 months. With hundreds of game reviews, previews, and it comes with a game calendar that tells you which games and even movies are coming out for that month. IT ROCKS. And no I'm not some guy who works for them tryin to sell it. It really rocks.

Some people who review GI are morons, 2004-06-26 I'm not saying everyone has to love game informer. )i find it to be a good source of gaming information that helps me buy good games and avoid crap ones) but u can't just make stuff up like Kevin Brennan. Game informer has one main reviewer and then a "second opinion" section where a second person gives a short review of the game and a score. that would be more than one person per review. Also, i subscribe to electronic gaming monthly and the 3 reviewers often give the same rating. ur a moron kevin. anyone interested in gaming that has a good sense of humor should definatly get this magazine. it tells u what u need to know in a humorous and informative way so the magazine stays fun and intersting.
