    Never another Palm!, 2004-04-11
I bought my T2 7 months ago and, after spending many, many hours trying to get this outwardly delightful and robustly-featured product to perform satsifactorily, have reached the bottom line: $300 (my original price) paper weight and labor-wasting device.

My T2 never synced satisfactorily with my Dell, Windows-XP-equipped computer (which handles other addons including a digicam and ipod perfectly). Eventually, Palm tech support threw up their hands and allowed me to return it for repair. Over a month later I got it back --incapable of even taking a charge. Following more consultations and negotiations, Palm finally agreed to send me a reconditioned unit.

The refurbished lemon arrived after another few weeks and refuses to synch at all, even with extensive kibbitzing from the tech staff over the phone (for which they originally tried to soak me for $25 since it had been more than 90 days since I bought the original lemon).

The final straw was that, having followed in minute, cautious detail all Palm's written and phone instructions to the letter, I lost -- what, 100s of hours-worth of data-entry over the years? -- when the copy-data-before-reinstall-software procedure saved exactly none of my files. Unretrievable, gone. Refund: don't even think about it.

I will never buy another product from this company.

BUY ANYTHING BUT A PALM PRODUCT!!!!!!!!, 2004-04-10
I purchased my Tungsten March 21, 2004. This was my fourth palm product and by far the first was the best. It is now April 9, 2004 and I have four big problems with my Tungsten T2.

First of all, the voice recorder never functioned properly. I would be able to record most of the time but occasionally, it would try to record but nothing would happen ( a soft reset was the only to fix the problem).

Second, the battery life is a day at most for me ( I do use my Tungsten T2 a lot).

Third, about a week after I got it my Tungsten the screen started to whistle. The volume has increased every day since then. It is now loud enough to keep me from using it in meetings or the like.

My last problem first occurred three days ago. My tungsten no longer reads SD cards or MMC's. I spent two hours on the phone with "customer service" (twenty minutes were spent talking to people). The people who work at the customer service phone line were rude, curt, and lazy. They seemed to be very annoyed that I was interrupting their day by calling them. Half the time I had trouble understanding them due to the poor phone connection (this was not on my end, the customer service is located in India). The rest of the time I could hardly understand the customer service reps due to their thick accents.
Now I get to jump through a flaming hoop to send it back to get fixed.

I can only say, get something, ANYTHING, but a palm product.

    Great Product!, 2004-04-04
Palm has made another great product! I love my T2. I keep tons of information from work and personal stuff on mine. I have no problem syncing my information from my work computer and home computer. Some of the problems discussed above can be avoided by clicking on the hotsync, custom option. This will allow you to decide if you want the data on your handheld to overwrite the data on your computer or vice versa. Using this great product will do nothing, but make your life easier and more organized if you put the time into it. There are an infinite number of programs available for it. I still favor the Palm OS because of its simple structure, that is exactly what I need. I hope you all have the same experience I have had with thie product!

    Buy It From Amazon!, 2004-03-27
I am very attached to my m515, and so when I wanted to upgrade I read all the reviews on Amazon. I chose the Tungsten T2 based on the reviews.

In order to save a few bucks, I made the mistake of ordering my handheld from palmone.com instead of from Amazon. I received the box in the mail...but with NO HANDHELD IN THE BOX! I have been working with PalmOne for five days, and I still do not have a handheld. While they are polite when I call, I don't think they believe me. I may be out $250.

Amazon is very reliable, but I have nothing good to say about the service from PalmOne. They can't even manage to get the handhelds into the boxes.

Nice machine but the graffitti is temperamental, 2004-03-26
I upgraded to this model from my old b&w IBM work pad. The screens are really clear and easy to read. This model has many more functions than my old one, and I use it constantly.
The graffitti is a little different than IBM, but essentially the same. I find it temperamental, though, and it often picks entirely the wrong character - sometimes even giving me a letter when I'm writing a number in the numerical section. I was able to write a fast graffitti appointment or record a new contact in my address book quickly before, but now I find I'm often backing up a couple of times, just writing a few words. I can never seem to write a new contact's e-mail address or the phone number correctly the first time. I owned and used my work pad extensively for a couple of years, so I'm not a novice at it.

There are icons for two games on the games section, but when I select either of them, my machine locks up and I have to turn it over and reset it every time.

I have no problem hot-synching; the critical functions do what they are supposed to.
I didn't expect the above-mentioned glitches though, at this price.
