Works great, stable so far, nice features, 2004-01-25 I admit that I was put off by the reviews here, so I checked with Intuit's free, responsive online chat to ask some questions before buying. They had answers to my concerns, so I ordered. It turns out that none of the problems affected me. My January version may be more stable (release 3), or it's because I validated my old Quicken 2002 data file before upgrading (Validation is a file operation under the File menu that fixes errors). But I'm loving this version. The interface is different, but must be more intuitive because I've figured it out without consulting "Help". 401K's are a breeze to track now, my small hometown bank works online with this version, investments and performance are better tracked. Overall, it takes me less work and gives me a better picture - and no bugs yet after 2 weeks of power-using. Validate and backup your file 1st, then give Q2004 a try.

What's Happened to Intuit?, 2004-01-25 I've been using versions of Quicken for well over a decade, but this version is so buggy that I removed it and replaced it with Quicken 2002. (I did update Quicken 2004 to the latest build, but it's still not ready for primetime.) The bugs were annoying but not catastrophic, like hidden accounts not staying hidden or windows not drawing properly. It froze at one point when I tried to access the help file, but I didn't lose any data. And my system is ordinarily very stable. But I'm not confident that my data would be safe. I've never returned software before, but I think I'm going to send this back to Intuit.

Year 2004, 2004-01-15 Do not bother with Quicken 2004 Premier. Program will not open with operating system date set with a CY 2004 date. This problem started January 1st 2004. Intuit says they are "aware of the problem". Now, fifteen days into January 2004 no fix is available. I've used Quicken for over ten years. VERY DISAPPOINTED in support from Intuit. Send me an email (navyjim1@aol.com) if anyone has a fix.

Don't Even Think About Getting This Upgrade, 2004-01-15 I have loved Quicken until this upgrade. None of the version updates have corrected the bugs in this software. It runs poorly under Windows XP and even worse when I tried to use it on my laptop w/ME. Don't touch this one. I am very diappointed with Intuit at this point.
It's a bad as everyone says, 2004-01-12 Like many others, I was a loyal Quicken customer and was running Quicken 2002 Deluxe until upgrading to 2004 Premier. If you're happy with your existing version of Quicken, don't upgrade to 2004. It really is bug ridden, just like many people have commented. Intuit seems to have focused on new on-line features and broke basic functionality. I regret upgrading to Quicken 2004 but it's too late for me to do anything about it. Maybe I'll try MS Money. I don't work for Microsoft or any company that sells Microsoft products.
