A Clay fan, 2005-03-16 Well, it seems a little silly to write a review about a song that has been out for several years and has already had 2,128 online reviews written for it. But, I am slowly going through my CD collection and writing reviews for everything I own. Anyway, I am a Clay fan and I loved this CD the minute I bought it. I went home and played it over and over. Clay did a smart thing when he remade "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Instead of mimicking Simon & Garfunkel's haunting original version, he turned it into a powerful, emotional, spiritual song and made it all his own. If you are gonna remake a classic, you gotta do something to make it better or why even bother. The new song, "This is the Night", is also good, but seems pale next to "Bridge". Clay has shown the world that he deserved to win American Idol instead of Ruben Studdard. He likely would have won, except for the fact that the producers did everything they could to make sure he didn't win. Anyway, Clay is getting the last laugh now.

Sensational !!!, 2005-01-09 This outstanding CD single by the multi-talented CLAY AIKEN is the best and the greatest and the most enjoyable, exciting, and entertaining CD single I have ever listened to, bought, and owned. I have been listening to it everyday on my CD player, since when it arrived at stores and at amazon.com. Clay Aiken's singing has so much emotion, passion, and power. No other American Idol contestant has ever come close to Clay Aiken's talent and no other American Idol contestant ever will because Clay Aiken's singing is so unique and is in a class by himself. Clay Aiken's voice is so mesmerizing that it takes you to another place; it is one-of-a-kind.

Great Voice, 2004-11-11 Clay Aiken is a truly talented vocalist and performer. One of the best songs he's ever sang is "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Though he doesn't have a high-pitched voice like the original singer, Art Garfunkle, Clay still sounds fantastic in this song, especially when he holds that long note close to the end. I personally might have preferred this song without the choir, even though they do give a cheerful feeling to the song.
"This Is The Night" is a beautiful song with romantic lyrics. Definately a good one! If I remember correctly, Clay had this song written for him to sing during American Idol.
Overall, I would say that Clay Aiken's first album, Invisible, has many more great songs to listen to then this single, but this single is pretty much the only way to hear Clay sing "Bridge Over Troubled Water". If you're a Clay fan, the single doesn't cost that much, so I'd buy it. And "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "This Is The Night" fit together perfectly. But if you want many a song by Clay, I recommend "Invisible".
P.S. Clay fans, don't forget! Clay is coming out with a Christmas album soon (Or has he already?).

Great single considering the songs., 2004-06-30 Considering the songs given to him, Clay Aiken did a great job on this single. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is a great song for him, and would have been great on this single, had it not had the choir practically drowning out his wonderful vocals half the time. That is the qualm I have with that song. "This Is the Night" is better. It is only Clay singing, and he did as good of a job as he could with it. It's a bit cheesy, but that's okay. So overall, this is a good single, but not his best.

This powerhouse singer does an amazing job and to think MOAM went triple platinum and his new single solitaire is fast approaching Gold. Powerhouse singer with a powerhouse voice. If you don't own his music go buy it, you won't be sorry.
