Warning! Warning!, 2008-06-19 Warning! Warning! Will Robinson. This software is defective. Unless you are planning to spend a lot of time uninstalling, reinstalling and searching the Internet for free help (Sage provides virtually no technical support for this or any Act! products), you a recommended to stay far, far away from any version of Act! for Palm (1,2, or 3).
Act for Palm is the absolutely worst software!, 2007-12-22 The software on this link is actually the old version of ACT for Palm. The new version is Act for Palm 2.0.
When I got a Treo 700 about a year ago, I wanted to very simply put my contacts and schedule on the Palm. Not rocket science. I had to upgrade my ACT 6.0 to 9.0 and purchase the Act for Palm program. Now, I'm not Bill Gates, but I'm not stupid about the computer.
It took about 20 hours of tech support to get my data converted. I opted to buy the extra tech support for about $250, which is the only wise decision that I had. It has NEVER worked right! It works ok for a few days, and then it crashes my phone. I cannot reliably use it as a scheduler or even a list of phone numbers. It has cost me business rather than being a tool.
The capper...the Treo 700 broke, and I got a Treo 755. I cannot load my contacts into the new Treo, because tech support says that the hot sync for the new Treo only works with the latest version of ACT. I do not want to go through the nightmare of reconverting my database again...so I am switching to Outlook. Act sucks...big time!

Great Customer Database!, 2007-02-23 I've used ACT for a while now and I'm impressed. This program helps me stay organized as far as my contacts are concerned. I meet someone, and I add them to my contact list. I am able to set up 50-60 pre-defined fields and keep detailed notes on each contact. If I forget what I discussed with one client, or employee, etc, I can go to that employee and check the last contact date. My notes refresh my memory and I can move forward with that contact business.
I can also track meetings, times, etc. This has helped me to be even more productive and organized than before! I don't have to lug around my laptop PC when I travel! Now I can keep good track of my contacts on my PDA. And, I can print reports too!

Still some problems with the product, 2003-05-23 Basically it has the same functionality as the desktop product, but there are several limitations when the software was scaled down for the PDA. It doesn't work with e-mail programs and it is not possible to take some data to the clipboard without entering into the edit mode. You can not dial a number from a Tungsten T linked to a bluetooth enabled telephone. It seems that Interact were in a hurry to start selling a product for the Palm platform. I hope they release new versions of this product in the near future.

ACT!, 2003-02-08 I love this product for contact management. I am a Realtor and have tried several other systems designed for Real Estate. Now that I am becoming more "computer literate" I find that I can make adaptations to this program to customize it for my business. I have just purchased a Palm M515 and am considering purchasing ACT! for the palm to further increase my efficiency. My life prior to this has been phone numbers and notes on little pieces of paper never to be found when I need them. Having the program on the palm increases the chance that these notes will be "at hand" when I need them, and I can upload them to the PC version each night. Also I can work from the PC and download the info to ACT! for my palm. What a great product!
