Superb release with server add-ons -- a bargain, 2002-02-25 This latest release of Adobe GoLive adds two server pieces: a workgroup server for collaborating on sites over a network or the Internet (and storing backups of each file uploaded to the site); and database integration with ASP, JSP, and PHP sites, including a prefabricated database system shipped with GoLive for testing or production use.GoLive 6 also has its full set of tools familiar to users of previous editions, but cleaned up to be less frustrating and more optimized. Many irritations from previous releases were smoothed away, while most features were extended to provide more utility and information. The site mapping feature, for instance, is now optimized for printing or export as a vector file (PDF or SVG) that could be used as a clickable site map. The Table palette now offers exact pixel dimensions of all cells and rows and a tool to resolve bad dimensions. (This might seem small, but most people spend lots of time building and revising tables.) GoLive 6 is a strong release, and for the price it's offered, you're getting a package of thousands of dollars worth of software. Compare GoLive 6 to Macromedia's UltraDev Studio, and you'll see the value here.
