Warning for all, 2008-01-17 Just letting everyone know to be careful because some of the sellers for Trigun are advertising the complete box set, but that is a misadvertisement.

A anime that turns into a bombastic mess, 2007-08-30 I liked Trigun, I really did. Yet, after a certain point I thought this series turned into a formulaic series where the guns just got bigger and the enemies more ruthless as it progressed. It starts out pretty funny. Vash makes a great comedian. He playfully dances as he dodges bullets, and at one point he's even dancing to a walkman. He steals donuts from Millie and * while he's running away from bad guys. He also loves twisting his middle finger around his index finger to make a peace sign, saying that he fights for "love and peace." Then the story took an unexpectedly dark turn. The villains became more vengeful and violent, forcing Vash to use more extra guns. Although he doesn't show his ultimate weapon in this box set, it's ridiculously powerful. The series was just too excessively dramatic. I didn't like how violent the series turned out. At one point, so many characters died, and I wondered just how they were going to change the tone of the series. It changed, but I can't help but think that there was just way too much violence for me to fully recommend it. It's like a shortened version of Dragonball Z.
If you like hilarious humor, just get the first box set. If you like it enough, buy the second. If you like it, that's great, but I just can't recommend such a excessively violent series. I'd rather watch "Letters from Iwo Jima".

Good, but..., 2007-08-25 Well, Vash is truly a classic, and most big time anime fans are already familiar with Trigun by now, but I think it's worth noting that the series really starts stronger than it finishes.
I give it 4 stars because the early period of the show is great. The bizarre, offbeat humor in the early episodes, and the super cool warrior moments Vash has a bit later on are all worth watching. Wolfwood is also quite cool, and helps breathe some life into later portions of the show.
Toward the end though, all the coolness and humor just sort of fade away. Vash falls into a pattern which makes him pretty much unwatchable unless you like being preached at, or perhaps if you don't mind watching with the tv muted.
There really are fun moments, and the first 2/3 or so of the show is almost as good as anime gets, but the later episodes really spoiled it for me.

Warning: A Horrible Quality "Boxed Set", 2007-08-17 Let me start by saying the product gets a 1 star but the series itself gets a 3-4 star rating. I enjoyed this series very much. Its not the best and its not the worst anime series out there. I own volumes 1-4 and decided it made more sense to complete the series with buying the "boxed set". I was hoping one day they would make a reasonably priced total package. The tin case "Remix" edition price is far too unreasonable. When i searched and came across "Trigun- The Complete Boxed Set" it seemed like the answer i was looking for. After receiving the "boxed set" i was a little suspicious to say the least. Some how they managed to fit the entire 26 episode series into 3 dvds. When doing that it takes away the quality of presentation and sound. Immediately you will notice the picture is off because the screen will keep moving in and out. The picture will focus and lose focus again and again throughout the episode. This makes viewing more of a task rather than pleasure. This is the worst quality dvd i ever bought and the product is just unacceptable. Sad to say but i own vcds that are just as good or even better than this dvd. The packaging is great but the transfer is pitiful. I didnt realize it at the time of purchase but this "boxed set" is really a bootleg. I wonder if the people at geneon are aware this horrible bootleg is out there on the net. Now i know the reason why ive never came across this "boxed set" in local stores. If you are expecting quality and looking to get your moneys worth then pass up this "boxed set". Truthfully in the end, i feel like it was a waste of money on my part since i will never watch these 3 dvds ever.

Vash the Whiner, 2007-07-12 If you like goofy humor, you'll love the first episodes. If you love action, you'll like the next couple episodes after that. But the rest! What happened?!
Vash starts out as a complete goofball, I mean, you can't take him serious. His voiceactor has this goofy voice that makes me laugh. Do yourself a favor though, don't listen to the american dub, they can't act. Anyway, from being this lovable goof, Vash turns into this cool gunman. Goof + action, weird mix but works.
But once you get to know about Knives, the anime just goes downhill. Our lovable goof and gunman turns into a whiner. Whine, whine, whine, whine, angst, whine, whine, depression, whine, whine, whine. He does nothing but whine!!! And why is he whining? Because he promised his caretaker he would never kill anyone - COME ON!!! So, even though he is the best gunman in the whole world, he just watches people die and whines about it. Just shoot the !%#¤"£@&¤&! villain and save those poor people! JEEZ!!! But nooooo, Vash is portrayed at the poor looser who can't kill and then he gets upset because people die.
I was also irritated that Gung-Ho Guns got so little screen-time, I mean, one of them is one the whole show for 5 SECONDS!!! You see him once, then you see him a couple of episodes later, then you see him a couple of seconds - then he isn't in the show anymore!!!
Oh, and let's add Legato to the mix. Obiously hates Vash, worships Knives and... Legato has a mind-controlling ability! So he could just kill, kill, kill like he wants to. But noooo, that would end the show, so he basically walks around, eat some food, look a bit scary and does NOTHING!!! The only reason I forgive him is because he is so handsome, but come on, he was portrayed so badly.
This anime is so bad compared to the manga, sure Vash was a whiner there too, but at least you got more Gung-Ho Guns time.
